Summary: Pioneer pro-200
Review: Cabinet a beauty and pix quality great, but I have had continued service problems with my unit. First the convergence was a problem, In house service attended twice to fix. The screen saver has bowed and does not fix well. On Oscar night the unit stopped working and I have been waiting over two weeks to a part. Poor quality and poor service from Pioneer. The unit has been out of service more than in service.

Summary: Excellent performance on NTSC cable and digital sources.
Review: I have recently purchased the Pioneer Pro 200 projection TV. I have been using it now for 1 month and find the picture quality to be excellent . I was skeptical as to how good a project TV could perform and after living with the Pro 200 now for a month I find both cable (300 lines max res.) and all other sources to be clear and clean with great color and picture. My origial concern was that when I seen the set in a store it was with a DVD which I had no question would be good, but with great pleasure I can say that the set is good with all sources for awesome television viewing.

Summary: Great TV, especially for a rear projection, but...
Review: If I could do it over again, I would go with the Mitsubishi. I saw them physically next to eachother in a store and knew I had made a mistake. The Elite is really nice though and very functional, the only serious irritant being the "gray bars" on the side of a 4:3 standard TV signal (because the screen is actually 16:9 - wide screen). I called Pioneer and asked if there were any possible way of getting rid of them and they said "why would you want to?" My response was of course "would you like to watch a movie with gray bars on the top and bottom?" Alas, you cannot change the gray bars. That being said, this is a great TV with very sharp images when watching DVD's. But, if you plan on watching alot of VIDEO TAPES -DO NOT GET A REAR-PROJECTION TV! They are un-watchable, grainy and just all around horrible. Something about a picture tube (a regular TV) makes tapes much more watchable. If you do plan on watching tapes, I recommend the Sony Wega 32", 36" or 40".
