Summary: One of the best picture for a projection TV
Review: I bought this TV three months ago and like everybody said before, TV has to be carefully adjust. This TV has a high contrast and default picture is too flashy, too much color but once ajusted, very very nice. Also, convergence is easy to setup with the nine points adjustment, but for best adjustment, better go into the service setup menu where you have a generated color bar where it is much more flexible to setup convergence instead of the nine points adjustment in the customer setup menu. Very happy with this TV and watching a DVD with it is simply unbelievable

Summary: Great
Review: i have a 350 dvd collection and i watch a lot of tv and let me tell you.. this tv is awesome, and it's not true that tv shows in 4:3 format are distorded, the look the same they fit te screen without messing the image up. You need a few days to get used to the size and format but it's the same has a 4:3 tv. In all the project tv i saw before buying this one .. this one has the clearest picture and more settings and alot of inputs and the Components part ... wow pictures looks awesome for dvds. Seriously this is one of the best projection tvs around. If you watch it under 16x9 all the time (wich you should) will work for years and years and years....

Best of all, i bought this unit for $1088.00 at 6th Ave electronic (New Jersey)

Summary: Love this tv!!
Review: Just wanted to say we bought this tv in July. It was delivered to our door and installed by the delivery men. The only problem was the shippers seemed to think Montana was in Utah. But, once we got the geography problem fixed the TV was delivered and we just love it.

Wonderful pictures, DVD's are just awesome.

I highly recomend this TV.

Summary: Set has some problems: _NOT_ recommended
Review: The set I received had some problems. The user convergence of 9 point convergence, could not fix the edge convergence problems. The TV as it was originally received had screen tilt of about 3/4" to the right. The picture size was not adjusted to fit the screen (too big), and when picture was centered according to instruction manual, I noticed uneven presentation between left and right side of the screen.

I had service technican come out to fix the above noted problems. Technican found that he had to manually adjust the RGB guns as well as use the service screens(software adjustments were not enough), and even after gun was adjusted, the edge convergence was not very good. The 64 point convergence screen does not allow technican to adjust the bottom and the top row of cross-hairs(very strange). So, after all these adjustments, it looked better, but, still the convergence was not very good at the edges. When each gun displayed the grid separately, some of the gun could not be made to display straight lines on some of the lines, especially the bottom line.

I have other issues with this unit such as poor and insufficient manual, RF inputs that forgets channel memory when switching from cable to broadcast, and two RF input requirement of having same type of input (cannot have RF of cable, and regular broadcast), poor PIP adjustments/control etc.

But, basically, this unit is going back.

I recommend that you stay way from this unit. The factory settings were horribly out of spec. There must be QA problems at Panasonic. My experience with Panasonic has not been that great in recent years.

After several purchases of Panasonic, this will be my last.

Summary: Read manual then rate this TV!
Review: This Panasonic's TV manual first page said: The marking or retained image on the TV tube resaulting from viewing fix image will cause pernament damage of the TV tube.
Not only this model has the burn-in problem but all CRT based PTV have some burn-in problem if viewer keep watch fixed image!

Why I rate this TV for five star because I spend $1300 include shipping compared LCD based PTV will at least twice as much of the expense(think about if you spend $3000 the TV need fix after 4 years). This TV has best picture quality with highest cost efficient value. CRT base PTV is very matured technology related with plasma or LCD TV. If end user read CR magazine this year TV issue people will find out Plasma TV will consume lots of power and generate lots of heat. Also after 5 years usage Plasma TV will decrease its contrast rate up to 50%.

If consumer read this TV's manual and adjust his viewing habit so the TV will be perfect and last longer! LCD base PTV won't have burn in problem but you gotta paid more!

Personally my strategy is buying a CRT based PTV first and wait for LCD TV became cheaper(take at lease three year for a large screen).

Summary: Awesome TV
Review: This tv is a GREAT tv. The picture quality is great. It has nice zoom modes ( say your watching a letterboxed tv show < broadcast in 4:3 but letterboxed on top and bottom > you can zoom it with the tv and it will cut off the top and bottom black bars and have a perfect AR! ) the stretch mode is ok as well takes a bit getting used to at first. Xbox Games are great on this TV ( using an component video cable to get HDTV ) widescreen and very live colors. I used the avia calibration disc and the colors are amazing. This TV also has a Svideo input on the front and has DVI on the back. IF i didnt already have a very nice sound system i wouldnt really need one soo bad with this tv. The tv's speakers are very nice and very clear. The tv also is big enough with the speakers so you dont need to buy a tv stand. This tv only got 4 out of 5 stars because it doesnt support 720p. 1080 is nice. When hooked up to an external hdtv reciever ( samsung ts151 ) the quality and detail is absolutly amazing! each hair is shown clearly. WB/CBS/NBC all broadcast 1080i ABC/FOX broadcast different formats ( ABC 720p not supported by this tv but with that samsung tuner it will convert it to 1080i no worries ) fox is 480p ( progressive dvd quality ) Overall this is a great TV! you wont be sorry.
