Summary: The Real Thing vs. poor-quality imitations
Review: I believe the Crosley Nostalgic Stereo unit which includes a CD player, cassette and AM/FM radio as well as the old-fashioned turntable for 33's and 45's, is a superior stereo product. I've been checking around for more than a year and the Crosley unit remains the best choice, so far. If there are other competitors, I would love to hear about them.

Summary: Thums Down for this item
Review: I recieved the Philco Classic Turntable for my birthday. It worked for the first three months and then when I was listening to a record the turntable stopped working. Amazon let me return it but I will not be buying another PHILCO product. I have since gotten a Crosley record player and the quality is three times better than that of the Philco. I would NOT recommend buying the PHILCO Classic Turntable.

Summary: Philco Phooey
Review: In 3 words. "Piece of junk" or "Save your money".
Inferior product. Fisher-Price offers better audio quality than this. My 1962 Rambler had better sound.

Summary: Another Thumbs Down Vote!
Review: In total agreement with other reviews...I've checked out these units and the Philco is not very good, especially compared to the superior Crosley Entertainer, which I believe is available for less.

Summary: Paperweight at Best
Review: No kidding...you do get what you pay for. The sound reproduction from this faux antique-Philco system at best can be described as "tinny" and mediocre. The company should at least have the decency to make this sound like a moderately well designed and sounding bookshelf system, not an a.m. table top radio. The turntable section is very reminiscent of cheap toy record players. The marketing campaign for this product should be aimed more at youngsters to have this as a toy. But then again, that would be insulting even for kids... One word can sum up this audio piece; kitsch. You will probably see many of these on E-bay !

Summary: Worked OK for 3 months
Review: Purchased this item about a year and a half ago and it worked for only a few months. After that, the sound from the CD player was barely audible and sometimes just wouldn't play. I took apart the front panel yesterday and found pieces of paper wedged between the knobs and CD apparatus; as if the pieces weren't cleaned before the unit was put together. This could not have come from playing CDs after purchase because of the location of the paper in relation to the CD input. I'm very disappointed in this unit. Don't waste your money.

Summary: Don't be fooled by the beautiful antique look.
Review: This item was given to my daughter as a gift from her grandmother. The CD player worked well for a few months and suddenly stopped playing. For four months I've tried cleaning it with CD cleaners with no luck. I've tried to find contact information for the manufacturer to get some resolution because there is not a detailed troubleshooting list, for each feature, included with the product. If you have money to waste it will make for a wonderful showpiece.

Summary: Paying for the name, and prestige....
Review: Tried looking for these 'specialty items' near the local stores, either 'out of stock',or limited variety of models. Beautiful radio's,and very nice show pieces. Didn't buy the 'Philco classic turntable w/cd and cassette'. Bought the 'Crosley'(CR78CD 4-in-1 Entertainment Center w/remote control) instead. Bought it in 'oak',which looks like a light tan,not that super light color that's pictured on the 'internet',very nice and was not disappointed. Went to the 'Crosley Web Site'(Crosley.com),and ordered by phone, took two weeks to arrive (Crosley uses U.P.S. Ground) and very happy with radio. To bad AMAZON.COM doesn't have 'Crosley' in 'stock' would've bought it,but like I said these radio's are 'specialty items',not too much in demand, overall.
