Description:

Get home-theater convenience and elegance from a single tidy package. This 24-inch flat-screen TV houses a full-featured DVD player and VCR. Besides looking great, a pure-flat tube eliminates unwanted reflections from room light and affords a broader viewing angle than conventional tubes.

The four-head hi-fi stereo VCR offers eight-event, one-month programming. Its four-head design ensures smooth slow-motion play (forward and reverse) and clear still-frame images, while hi-fi sound records and plays back stereo audio tracks. If you route the stereo output to an AV receiver, you can even enjoy four-channel (left, center, right, and monaural surround) Dolby Pro Logic sound from TV and Dolby-encoded cassettes.

Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to an audio-video receiver. An auto-repeat feature proves useful for trade shows or retail applications. Side-firing speakers offer a broad stereo "image" for TV or tapes.

Front-panel audio-video inputs accommodate hookups of a camcorder or gaming console, while a front-panel headphone jack grants listening privacy. One-touch record simplifies setup of the timer for recording within a 24-hour period; one button starts record and allows setting of record length. A sleep timer saves energy and the wake timer makes a convenient alternative to a clock radio. Violent or sexually explicit programming can be identified and blocked using a V-chip, prohibiting viewing by young children.
