Summary: Pretty Good
Review: As impossible as it is to believe, there is no mute button on this unit. Fortunately we figured this out before setting up the TV and saved the necessary effort of extensive repacking before returning it to the store. The mute button on the remote is more than just a convenience - it is the manufacturer's sole effort to prove they are on our side in the continuous battle between ever-intrusive advertisers and ad-saturated consumers. Obviously Toshiba has moved to the dark side in this battle.

Summary: Worst product ever! ---- Don't buy it!
Review: Don't buy it! After setting up this gem of a TV/DVD Combo, everything worked fine. However after less than 3 hours of use, the dvd player stopped working! Toshiba was NO HELP! NO TECH SUPPORT ON OR OFF LINE. They want me to bring it to one of their very few service centers. This place is over 50miles from my home. "I Don't think so"! When the dvd player starts, I get a error message (incorrect Disk) with a disk that allready played ONCE! I have tried several other disks, with the same results! So now I just have a very expensive plain TV!... Frist and last Toshiba product for me!!!

Summary: It's what's not there that is a problem
Review: I was awaiting the previous Model to come into stock when I found this Model, the next one available for immediate shipping. I jumped at it assuming it was the same as the previous model, only better.
Let me say as a TV/DVD it is wonderful, audio and pictures are great, BUT.... No mute and no S Video. Plus the provided Toshiba codes for setting up the DISH remote do not work either. We spoke to Toshiba and they confirmed no MUTE and no SVideo and gee if the codes don't work better speak to DISH.
I'm sorry, but not having a mute on a TV these days is so passe as to be funny and one does expect SVideo on a[n expensive] TV.

Summary: Just a darn good TV
Review: I was looking for a good TV for the bedroom when I ran across this one ... Having priced out various TVs recently I snagged it immediately.

I must say I'm very pleased with the picture and audio. I love having the DVD player built in; fewer components, wires and such. Plus only one remote. I don't have a problem with the remote, and since I have standard cable I don't have any issues with satellite dishes. If you're just looking for a darn good TV with a built-in DVD, check it out. If you want bells and whistles like picture-in-picture ..., check out higher end models. I think this is the best value for a flat-screen TV in this price range.

Summary: Nice picture, but terrible remote
Review: I wish I had read one of the other reviews that discussed problems with the remote prior to purchasing this tv. It is amazing in this day and age that the remote doesn't have a mute button. It is also amazing that it seems no universal remote will work on this model Toshiba. Who wants to be stuck using two remotes? Well, you will have to use two if you buy this tv. I contacted Toshiba to see if any universal remotes work with this tv, and they stated they did not know. I also complained to them about the lack of a mute button, and that their remote is not a universal remote. They responded to my e-mail, but they did not seem to really care about my complaints. I think I would have done better if I bought the comparable Panasonic television. The only plus to the Toshiba, is that it does have a nice picture.
