Description:

The TC-WE635 has Dolby B and C noise-reduction record/playback circuitry that suppresses high-frequency noise. The switchable MPX Filter blocks the 19-kHz multiplex pilot tone of FM stereo broadcasts; switching it on enables proper Dolby NR tracking when you record off the air, while switching it off enables maximum high-frequency response in all other recording situations. The Bias and Record Calibration System uses a built-in oscillator to optimize recording parameters, matching any specific tape. Automatic record level senses incoming signals and sets levels for low noise and low distortion. Tape heads exert a major influence on tape sound. High-density Permalloy heads offer high maximum-flux density to reproduce music with wide dynamic range. Full-logic transport controls respond to even slight finger contact. Full logic lets you go directly between modes--for example, from fast-forward to rewind--without first pressing Play. Wide-range pitch control alters the playback tape speed, adjusting the musical pitch to your singing voice or musical instrument. S-Link Control System builds easier, more intuitive audio-video functionality with other Sony products. (Requires audio components with the S-Link Control A1 interface, video components with the S-Link Control S interface, and AV receivers with both the S-Link Control A1 and S-Link Control S interfaces.) High-speed dubbing makes editing of tapes fast and easy. Twin/sequential recording records two tapes at once or records two tapes sequentially; you get up to three hours of continuous recording on two C-90 cassettes. Relay Play automatically plays the cassette in Deck B after Deck A is finished; you get up to three hours of continuous music with two C-90 cassettes. RMS track programming plays songs in any sequence you choose. Multiple AMS track search lets you automatically skip up to nine tracks forward or backward. CD synchro-record simplifies making tapes from compatible Sony CD players by releasing from record/pause mode when the CD player goes into play. Auto play automatically shifts into play after rewind or fast-forward. Record mute puts silent intervals between songs as you record. A fader switch creates professional-sounding fade-in at the beginning of a song or fade-out at the end. You can even operate the deck with the remote control of a compatible Sony receiver.
