 Description:

The EdgeAudio 502D compact loudspeakers with DiAural technology are remarkably smooth and lush two-way satellites or bookshelf speakers, capable of filling a room with rich, accurate sound. When used in conjunction with the EdgeAudio 502D-LCR (a set of three 502Ds) and EdgeAudio SW-12/320 powered subwoofer, these speakers are capable of extremely satisfying home theater performance.
The 502Ds are built around a 5.25-inch woofer/midrange driver, which is engineered to handle a very wide frequency range, as well as a smooth, accurate, 1-inch tweeter to reproduce the high frequencies. The tweeters and woofers are made by Vifa, the esteemed Danish manufacturer whose products are usually found in high-end systems costing thousands more. EdgeAudio is the first speaker maker to introduce the revolutionary DiAural technology in an affordable speaker. The DiAural circuit is a new, patented crossover technique that fosters proper communication and interaction between transducers (midrange drivers and tweeters). This new and innovative process results in fewer parts, less distortion, lower production costs, and renders the high-frequency and midrange transducers virtually incapable of burnout. By eliminating the distortion associated with traditional crossover technology, the revolutionary DiAural circuit in the 502D creates a sound so open and natural that you'll forget you're listening to speakers. By incorporating the DiAural circuit to interconnect the drivers, EdgeAudio speakers reproduce music and movies with a coherent, open, and natural sound that brings the original source to life in your home. With a frequency response of 78 to 25,000 Hz (+/- 3dB) and a sensitivity of 88 dB, the EdgeAudio 502D series is capable of producing astoundingly accurate sound reproduction at volumes uncharacteristic of a speaker its size. The drivers are housed in beautifully finished, ported cabinets made using a dual-composition design with 1-inch HDF (high-density fiberboard) interior and a solid wood exterior in a medium cherry finish. The walls of this cabinet virtually eliminate measurable wall resonance and are much more rigid and acoustically dead than the medium-density particleboard commonly used to build speaker cabinets. The 502D cabinets are further dampened by the inclusion of internal bracing and acoustic damping material inside the cabinet to eliminate high-frequency reflection. The result is a truly beautiful small speaker, capable of producing rich, full sound with an amazingly large sound stage.
