Description:
The altazimuth is the simplest type of mount, offering two motions: altitude (up and down) and azimuth (side to side). This allows the observer an easily achieved full range of motion. A telescope on an equatorial mount can be aimed at a celestial object and guided, with slow-motion controls, across the sky, keeping the object in the field of view of the telescope. The altazimuth mount on this telescope includes a slow-motion control rod for easy vertical adjustments, while the optics offer vivid details of the nearby planets and the moon, as well as deep-sky objects.
