Summary: Great camcorder. Perfect combination of size and features.
Review: I heavily researched about 15 similar products. For my needs, this one was perfect. It has still digital photos (note, though, at 640x480 quality; this is not a high-res digital camera) at about the minimum possible camcorder size. The PC1 is smaller, but no still photos.

You do need to read the manual to get past the basic features, but it's pretty straightforward and everything is well labeled.

If I lost this camera, I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase it (if I had the money again, of course!). The mini-DV format has a lot of advantages; the big disadvantage is that you can't reuse earlier formats like 8mm.

Summary: I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TRV-8
Review: I've been using TRV-10 for about 6 months now. I had taken it to most of the places I visited. No doubt, it has real good clarity both in Audio and Vedio. Its sleek and handy size is impressive. Photo quality is not at all good as noted by other reviewers. It is just OK to use for home purposes. Print (on 35mm film) sucks. The other thing that did not impress me is Memory stick. It has no use if you have an i-link feature in your computer. I recently got a SONY VAIO Laptop with I-link and after that I never used memory stick option. Now I realize memory stick is useless if you own or plan to own a computer with I-Link. This I did not know the time when I bought the camera. Sony DVGate Motion/Still software replaces the need of I-Link.

In my opinion, if is just enough to have TRV-8 unless you want to spend extra 200-300$ on just memory stick..

Summary: Great camera!
Review: Just bought the TRV 10. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Set up with the computer went off with no problems. Camera is lightweight and compact. Clarity is amazing.

Am looking forward to vacation so that I can really put this camera trough its' paces, which I'm sure it will perform with no difficulty.

Summary: Tech Support Poor
Review: This Camera is difficult to learn to use and Tech Support from Sony is non-existent.The memory adaptor shipped with my unit was defective and I ended up purchasing the PCMCIA adaptor which I finally got working with the help of a local computer technician.

The directions for installing the software are poor and the software is not "user friendly". There appars to be no way to modify your pictures using the Sony software, I am using an Adobe photo program to adapt my pictures to other applications.

Wait for improved software and better tech support before you but this camera!
