Summary: Great player, great price
Review: A nice player which came as a pleasant surprise. Easy to install, easy to upgrade, lots of features. My only complaint is I wish the headphones were better.

Summary: ok by me
Review: Bought this at local AMES with rebate 89.00
I play in a band and I normally run a cd player through our high powered PA. It (...) out last weekend (road wear) I hooked up this little number and it sounded BETTER than the CD player could be the extra bass and treble, I don't know but I'm satisfied. get a real pair of phones for much better sound.
Don't forget to format the internal memory and external before recording.

Summary: It could have been a great product.
Review: Classic seems to have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with their MP6400 MP3 Player. I was attracted to the product because of its small size, light weight, the use of economical 128M Removable Smart Media card, use of a single AA battery for power, and the attractive price.

Unfortunately, several design decisions, poor attention to detail, and very poor reliability and service make this product disappointing.

The unit does not connect to the widely used Microsoft Windows media player, it does not play WMA files, and it uses a proprietary format for the Smart Media card. The player requires the use of Classic's own MP3 management software. This software is very basic and unreliable. Others have reported the compatibility issues with windows XP. In addition, the software does not connect to the unit reliably. This often requires several attempts to connect the unit. A much more serious problem with the PC connection also exists. If I am not careful to turn off the unit, wait, then disconnect the USB cable, the entire memory of the device is wiped out. This happened several times while trying to download to it.

Finally, the plastic case is very inferior. It is difficult to open the battery compartment and the Smart Media compartment, The sliding locks are poorly made and ineffective, The display is poorly aligned in the case and there is no provision for a belt clip or wrist strap.

In July the unit stopped working entirely. We sent it back in early September, and it was returned on December 12. The unit has now spent much more time in repair than it has spent working. The new unit is supposed to be their new MP6410 model, however it still looks like the old model. Time will tell if the Model 6410 is the great product that the MP6400 could have been.

Summary: Don't Buy With Windows XP=Crashed My System
Review: Crashed my new system that I bought over Christmas. I had to reboot my whole system. Haven't downloaded the patch from net yet

Summary: Don't bother
Review: Don't bother. I could get it to work. The manual does not have a troubleshooting section. It only explains how to download the progran. It's definitely not worth the aggravation. I am returning to the store today.

Summary: Working With WinXP
Review: For the cost of this player, the quality couldn't be higher. Though the lack of documentation is frustrating, if you know even a little about computers, you can figure the player out. If you're running Windows XP, this device does not ship with support, and searches on the internet turn up no help...I hope this helps with your purchasing!

Summary: sucks with windows xp
Review: hey looked cool but this player is is not compatable with windows xp, great value but for everyone that just upgraded, or soon will upgrade to windows xp, you will want to smash the stupid thing against the wall. it is very frustrating and i keep banging my head against the computer screen. there are no drives to be found online and no help in the manual. it doesn't even say "not compatable with windows xp" on the box. what a mistake this product is, i just wasted two hours of my life trying to get it to work, don't buy it!
