Summary: great features, but not quite perfect
Review: I got this player for a great deal a while back, but find that I haven't used it as much as I thought I would. I still have high hopes though. FM radio and voice radio are big pluses for long-term usage (iPods can't claim this I don't think), the battery life is pretty decent for only one AAA battery (better than the lithium-ion type to me since you can easily carry more), and it seems pretty durable since I've already dropped it a few times (yay for flash memory). However, I would've liked to see the following to make me want to use the device more:

- USB plug built-in to the device instead of via a cable - more easily used around different machines and as external storage
- manage music directly through Windows Explorer without additional software - the device is not recognized as a USB storage device and has to use accompanying software (if someone can figure out otherwise, let us know!)
- more intuitive buttons - they're not bad but it seems you have to press a lot of buttons to do certain things (maybe I'm just not used to small sized devices with few buttons though).

Oh, if you can't bear to be without your headphones, you'll find that 128 mb is not enough for listening to a lot of music. It's great that the device is expandable, but my cheap solution was to buy one of those mp3-CD players for when I can carry around more bulk (more often than not for a girl). I guess the next step up would be an iPod or other hard-drive based device, but for that extra price you can probably get a 1G SD/MMC card very soon. And no, I really don't think you need to carry around 30 Gigs of your music collection considering battery life for those devices is usually only 10 hours. Spend your money elsewhere, like buying this almost-perfect device.

Summary: Forget downloading from Napster
Review: I was quite impressed with this unit (small, attractive, good sound) until my husband and I tried to download some tunes from several commercial sites. Between the proprietary software and Windows Media Player not recognizing the USB connection we had to call TDK tech support for help. During the call, TDK broke the news that you can't download music from the commercial sites because of their built in protections -- you can really only "rip" tunes off of CDs or download from "free" sites. Since the idea of downloading music (rather than buying CDs) was the primary reason I bought the Mojo for my husband, this was an unpleasant surprise. It would have been nice to know the Mojo wasn't compatible before I bought it.

Summary: Close but not enough...
Review: I've been looking for a decent mp3 player at a decent price for a while and it seemed like this one fit my needs with a rebate. At the current price, I would've bought something else but it was about a half price so I think it was worth it. Anyway, here is the review...

Pros
- cheap
- very small but not too tiny
- looks good
- sound quality is good to excellent
- comes with FM tuner
- has voice and FM recording feature (I make voice notes)
- has SM expansion capability

Cons
- buttons are too small
- recording button is hard to activate (it's either my unit or due to the small buttons)
- weird ergonomics (when you hold it on you left hand, looking at the LCD, the left voice button raises the volume and the right one lowers it. Also left select button is for the previous track which is up and the right one is for the next which is down on LCD... I don't know about you but I am used to the notion of right is up and left is down. It took me a while to get used to it)
- useless cover (it's too bulky)
- earphone is cheap quality
- USB 1.1 only (but is you are transferring several songs at a time, I don't think it matters much. Just be patient. You saved $50 over USB 2 unit)

I would most likely recommend this unit if it has a rebate. If not, go with something else.

Summary: USB 1.1 is too slow, poor FM sound quality, average earbuds
Review: It's USB 1.1, so loading songs is slow.

There is a distinct sound quality difference between the radio and the MP3 player. The radio, being worse, is especially bad at capturing "highs". Since the EQ only works for the MP3 player, you can't tweak the radio sound.

The tinny sounding TDK earbuds do actually make the radio sound OK. But do you really want to use your "good" headphones for the MP3 player and the TDK ones for the radio function?

Also the FM tuner does not do well in pulling in stations in San Francisco (a tough environment).

Otherwise it has reasonably good functionality. Good manual. Good software. Good user interface. Nice ergonomics.

Summary: So far, I'm Impressed...
Review: Mojo originally caught my eye aesthetically (I'm a girl, what can I say?). After reading the reviews here and discovering a rebate, I decided to give it a try. Two big draws were the FM radio and expansion slot.

I've had my unit for about a week and have used it everyday jogging. I'm very pleased so far!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Overall Excellent: 4.5 out of 5
Review: Pros:
-A lot of features
-VERY easy to use PC software and mp3 player menus
-SD/MMC expansion slot
-Supports MP3/WMA up to 320kbps, VBR MP3, ASF,and ADPCM
-Stylish design, metal on front looks cool, case is looks nice , pretty backlight
-High quality/good sounding earbuds
-Useful and detailed manual
-iTunes, Realplayer, Windows Media Player compatible
-Can use it to transfer files
-Can record voice memos/radio
-Built in equalizer
-Size/weight, I can put it in my pocket w/out feeling it there
-Multiple languages(English, Spanish, French, Japanese)
-Upgradable firmware
-Comes w/Duracell battery
-20 radio presets
-Very good price from amazon, about one hundred dollars.

Cons:
-Small screen, but still readable
-Plastic feels a bit cheap, but many mp3 players are worse, the battery door also feels flimsy when opened
-Buttons are a bit small, but are placed very well
-Carrying case poorly designed, it makes it hard to use the buttons
-Radio sound quality is just OK and the reception could be better(I still got some static at some places even w/local station)
-No cover for SD slot because dust can get in, this isn't problem if you have a card inside or if you use the case
-USB cover is annoying to use
-Doesn't come w/the text to voice software like the 256F
-No USB 2.0, but transfering doesn't take that long

I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars
