Summary: Light and packed with features
Review: Being an owner of the original Nomad Jukebox, I immediately fell in love with this unit. This is not as bulky as the Nomad Jukebox 3 or the original. I also own a Zen and keep this unit in the car. Works great and sounds great in the car too!

Summary: Great Player.... some small glitches
Review: Bought this unit about 2 years ago. Works great though I knew that some day I would hit the 10 GB limit and want more space.
This finally happened about a month ago, but now I find it fun to prune away the not-so-good tracks.

The only problem I've had is that the unit would sometimes power off and reboot when connected to the PC and running on battery power. I figure this happens when the battery is below 20% and is fine on AC power.

Another thing, sometimes the file format corrupts and it tries to fix this by Rebuilding Library. Sometimes this works and sometimes not.

There is a way to boot into a secret maintenance mode that allows you to run some tools like Format HD, Rebuild library,
which has always fixed this for me (happened maybe 3 times since
I got it). You have to hold down some buttons while booting...
(look for this on the net)

I'm a techie type so I can accept this rare occurence.

So on the whole I love this player !!!

Summary: Best of the bunch
Review: I bought my NOMAD almost 2 years ago and it's performed flawlessly. It holds my entire 300 CD collection. The software that comes with it is much easier to use then any of the Rio/Music Match products. My brother, a computer moron, has picked up and used this with no problems. Therefore, anyone should be able to use it. The only feature that I would like to see is a shuffle/random play function. But overall, this is a great product.

Summary: Great Player for the price.
Review: I bought this mp3 player because i needed something mighty. I needed something to store all my music. And this little monster did it all. It is a bit big. But that's about it. If you think that the battery lifes is not what it should and you want longer battery life, turn the backlight off. It's easily made in the menu. Then your batterylife lasts longer. I have no problems with this one. Just this: If you connect your player to your computer and you notice that the battery life decreases in very short time, do this: Take Out the Battery and shut the hatch. Now connect the powercable to your player and it should go on automaticly. You will then notice that a different icon appears on the left of the down of the screen. That's the icon for telling you the player runs from the power from the wall socket. Then plug it in to the computer and no battery life will be taken. Very Good player !!!

Summary: GREAT DEAL FOR HIGH QUALITY PLAYER!!!
Review: I highly highly reccomend the nomad Jukebox 2 for the music lover. 10 gigabytes of music storage is way over plenty of room. I have not even filled up half of my nomad and i have put on about 60 albums. For those who have a bigger cd collection than about 100 to 125 i reccomend the nomad jukebox 3, also jsut as useful and as worth yuor money as this one but that holds twice as much music.. I GIVE THIS 6 Stars... be careful with it its not ment to be dropped

Summary: Solid, but a few things I'd change
Review: I must admit, the price was right when I purchased this unit...but there are a couple of features that I think could be better designed. For one, the unit looks a little too mcuh like a standard CD player. One of the things that's suppose to make the jukeboxes stand out is there unique design and this one doesn't deliver. However, my main beef is that you can not use the "shuffle" feature in individual play lists that you set up. The only way to use the shuffle feature is to allow the jukebox to go into the "all music" mode. I have several playlist that I like to listen to but I also like to mix them up a bit while they're playing. This unit does not allow you to do that.

Summary: A very good player, but not great.
Review: I received the Nomad Jukebox 2 for Christmas, and I really like it. I want to say that I love it, but I just can't give it that high of a recommendation. Don't get me wrong, this is an exceptional piece of hardware, and for under $200 it is a great value. The plug & play makes it very easy to get started, but the "extra" software that installs with it is a bit of a pain. The interface software is comprehensive and easy to use, though it can be a little confusing at times, since it is made to support three different players. If you are looking for a small player to handle your MP3's then this is definitely not the one to buy. However, if you are looking for a sturdy player with a large capacity then this could be the one for you. Here are the Pro's & Con's as I see them:

Pro's:
Large 10GB capacity (Hours of music)
Long life rechargeable battery
Fast USB2 interface
Supports several file types (i.e. MP3, WMA, etc)
Comprehensive on-board menu's
Very little distortion at max volume
Great value for under $200

Con's:
EAX & Smart Sound Technology tend to distort sound not enhance
A bit cumbersome (about the size of a standard CD player)
Software can be a bit confusing
Included headphones are cheap and uncomfortable
Scroll Button can be too sensitive at times

Overall this is a very good MP3 player, and I have no problem recommending it to anyone. If you don't mind a larger player, then this is the one for you. For the money it is a better value than the Jukebox 3. If you are looking for something to carry with you while you work out or run, then you should definitely look for something else along the lines of an IPOD.

Summary: JnR is the problem!
Review: I tried to order this product through Amazon. The merchant was JnR Electronics (or something like that). Anyway they took over a week for 2 day shipping... and still never got the package out or let me know what was going on. Buy this product somewhere else... you'll be wasting your time with JnR!

Summary: DO NOT BUY!
Review: My unit lastest six months. After that, it would not hold a charge. Only way to use it was to have it plugged into an outlet. Tech support says my warranty is for 90 days and that the battery should last a few years, I could try to fix it by buying another battery for $49.95. If not, I was told I have myself "a nice paperweight". Will never buy another product from this company!!!!!
