Summary: the best iv'e ever seen
Review: I own this mp3 player and i was very impresed with it, from the minute i saw it. every body was teling me, you know, maybe its to big, the works, but that is not true, it is perfect size, and when i wear it on my belt i do not feel it one bit, so if you have a choice between this and another mp3 player, this should be your choice. this is the best i have ever seen, very very user friendly, that is besides all the other cool features that it has. this is the one, and if you buy it i hope you enjoy it at the most.

Summary: HELP in Naperville, IL.
Review: I was so excited to have this little machine. I am a hugh music lover and wanted something portable to take with me. I purchased the Archos Jukebox 10 and could not believe how disappointed I was in the product. The performance is Excellent BUT forget the manuals and the software they give you to use!!!!!!! It took us almost 2 days and several phone calls to get it right. A HELPFUL HINT: Use the internet sites to help you program your player!!! I cant stress this enough!! The manuals tell you nothing!!! I sorted all my music and entered it. I found that the playlist files on the archos are not accessable ( we were told by archos ) unless you move files manually into the player. You cannot use the playlist catagories listed in your archos on your computer. After hours of trying to figure this out, I went on to their website through [....]to get information. You have to open seperate folders(i.e. rock, easy listening, etc.) and place all your music in there. This was never told in any of the manuals and when we called archos to get help, most of the people told us that perticullar program in the archos doesn't work. I was ready to pull my hairout!! We then got on the website and were saved!! I can't tell you how important this website was. Also the buttons on the machine are strange!! I do like the sound quality and the portable size. I hope that when I get all of this figured out, I will enjoy this more! I would have given the product more stars but, the manuals and help information were terrible. [...Go to their website] Hit MP3 players and choose the player studio you have. Read this web site BEFORE you do anything. Look at the questions because they are very important!!! I was on my way back with this player and [...] saved the day!!! I checked out numerous players and this one seemed to have everything I was looking for.

Summary: Archos device is versatile and sounds better than expected.
Review: I purchased a studio 10 from Archos just this evening and have been using it for about 6 minutes.
After pulling it from the box, I charged the batteries, plugged the USB cable into my PC running Windows 2000, and braced myself for the usual headache involved with a new computer peripheral.
The computer recognized the device immediately and assigned it a drive letter. I then opened my desktop MP3 directory and dragged a couple hundred songs over to the studio 10 drive. The transfer took approximately 10 minutes.
Based on several reviews I read I expected the sound quality to be lacking. However, I am at this moment most pleasantly surprised. This thing sounds good.
The documentation was somewhat slim, but informative. The menu navigation is simple, and after a quick read of the manual, which I will admit is written in somewhat "broken" english, I was up and running.
I will agree with the other reviews I have read... the headphones are not very good. In fact that is the only reason I
did not see fit to give this fine device five stars.
My current plan is to use the unit in the automobile so I no longer have to lug around hundreds of CD's. Also, the device will come in handy as a portable hard drive for use in carrying files to/from the office.
We will have to see how the batteries stand up over time as I cannot comment on their performance at this point.
I am pleased with the purchase and would recommend the studio 10 to anyone that was thinking about carrying a boatload of music or data around in their pocket. A very cool gadget.

Summary: Good Player/ External hard drive
Review: If you're looking to store a large sum of MP3s this player is for you. Over all play quality is not bad. If there is a lot of noise around, like when your cutting the grass the volume just does not put out to hear the music. Getting a better head set helped out a lot. Battery life is good, on the down side the battery is internal and cannot be removed. I travel a lot to different countries were I can't recharge the player. Overall This is a good player and it makes a nice external hard drive as well.

Summary: Nice quality, price, but a bit bulky
Review: I received this player for Christmas of 2002. I have since then put all of the songs from my CDs on to it, as well as some extra songs. The quality of this mp3 player is great! I recorded the songs onto it at CD quality and still have over 9GB left. The headphones that come with this player are nice too, except they can irritate your ears if worn for over about 15 minutes. A charger is also included, as well as a carrying case (though the headphones don't fit in it).

The price is very good for a 10GB player! You can also use your Jukebox as a hard drive to store all of your data files. However, the USB 1.1 connection is not fast and takes awhile to transfer songs if you record at a high rate. This means that if you put the songs on the player at CD quality or higher, it takes awhile.

It is also quite obvious from the picture that this MP3 player is not small. This is not a good device to use while jogging or doing active things, etc. This player is more for those who have quite a large amount of music and want to carry it with them.

So here's the review in brief:

The Good:
-Lots of storage for the price!
-Charger, case, headphones included
-Good playback quality
-Doubles as a hard drive for data storage

The Bad:
-Heavy, not good for listening to while playing sports
-USB transfer is slow (but I recorded at 128-224kbps)

Summary: If you like having nice quality music with you and hate bringing your CDs everywhere, this is for you! Especially if you want something inexpensive, yet has a lot of storage. This isn't for the person who looks to enjoy his/her music while active, though (Ocassionaly it freezes while I am mowign the lawn while listening to it).

Summary: Pathetic piece of trash!
Review: It constantly hangs. Shuts down for no reason. And its recording capability is so unreliable that if it does not hang randomly in the middle of the recording, chances are you will simply not find the file after the recording is done (the file's just not there!). I am quite a wired guy, so you can be sure my problems are not because I am digitally challenged. The Archos is a very poor piece of engineering. Period.

Summary: My Mistake
Review: Buying the Archos was entirely my mistake. I was willing to put up with the large size and ugliness to save a few bucks but didn't expect the poor and weak sound quaity. It was easy to set up and use with XP but the USB 1.x is way too slow for use with a 10q gig product especially when you also want to backup some files to it. I found it too big and heavy to keep with me much so don't use it very often. I decided to part with the bucks and go for the iPod. This is what I should have done in the first place-it just doesn't pay to settle for less. The iPod not only sounds much better but is easy to carry around and there are tons of accessories for it making it useful in more situations and offering a lot of choices in cases, car tuners etc. What really impressed me about the iPod was the ease of use with and without the computer. Much more logical and a lot less button pressing to get things done-now I know what they mean when they talk about the iPod's elegance. clearly the software is just as important when deciding on music players. It is just a bonus that the iPod looks kewl and really feels like a quality product.

Easy to see why the iPod is the top seller and most desireable player out there. I'll never go cheap again-it just isn't worth it.
