Summary: Love this Camera
Review: I just bought this camera in September, took it on vacation to Yellowstone National Park - the photos were unbelievable. I had no experience with a digital camera, but this was so easy to use and the instruction book was easy to understand. I would recommend getting rechargeable batteries & a charger. Digital cameras eat batteries.

Summary: One of the best in it's class
Review: I own an awesome Canon Rebel S2 camera (35mm) and needed a fit-me-in-a-pocket sleek digital camera with decent megapixels. I saw this camera and bought - LOVE IT! It shoots in 6 MEGAPIXELS! What Fuji did was they found a way to "overlap" the 3.1 megapixels onto eachother to creat 6 megapxls.
I OWN IT FOR OVER 2 WEEKS NOW AND TESTED THE PHOTO QUALITY:
Let me tell you the COLOR is 100% ACCURATE - TRUE TO LIFE COLOR which was my number 1 quality I was looking for (next to megapxl and clarity).

I blew up one of the photos to 13" x 18" and THE PICTURE IS CRYSTAL CLEAR, the picture was of me and my dog and you can see the finest hairs on my dog. NO PIXELATION WHATSOEVER!!!! People were very impressed!!!!

It's very compact. The next best one is Canon S400. See the complete reviews with test images at www.imaging-resource.com . For the money you can't beat it!
Wait a year or two and then upgrade to a fancy 5 megapixel or by then 8 megapixel
(which just came out for $1000). Technology rapidly advances- in the meantime stick with this camera- you'll love it!!!

Summary: Wonderful Pictures and Easy to Use!
Review: I received this camera as a gift last Christmas. I am your average technology user - not a computer wiz by any stretch - and I found this camera so easy to use right out of the box. It takes gorgeous pictures and uploading to my computer is as simple as plugging it in to the USB cable. In the year that I've owned the camera I've never had one problem with it - and it's been put to the test with the hundreds of pictures we've taken of our first child! I highly recommend this camera.

Summary: One of the best in it's class
Review: Pictures are worth a 1000 words. Please see the pictures in my photo gallery (www.people.umass.edu/nishanth/ ) which I took with FinePix A310 at 1MP setting.

+ Points:
It doesn't drain the batteries quickly as others.
Crystal clear pictures.
Extreme close-up and long range shots with equal ease.
Light, compact and elegant.
High quality 6 MP prints.
Equipped with almost all functions which you can ever need.
Easy picture management software.

The only defect I can find is the lack of an UV filter.
I strongly recommend its purchase.

Summary: Disappointment - Image Noise
Review: The Finepix A310 was a disappointment to say the least. I got an excellent deal on the camera but because of it's image noise, the camera suited no purpose. I read the reviews regardin the noise, but assumed it was an exaggeration. It was no exaggeration. Do not purchase this camera if you are going to use it to take pictures (AKA: Don't buy this camera) The image noise and blurriness in pictures will disappoint you. In my testing I compared the image noise of this camera to that of a Finepix 2650 (2MP), Nikon 2100 (2MP), and Canon Powershot A70 (3MP). In all these cases, the Finepix A310 faired far worse. I have returned my Finepix A310 for a Canon PowerShot A70. Couldn't be happier.

Summary: Fantastic images and so easy to use
Review: This camera rocks. It produces gorgeous images with almost no effort, and is smaller than a disposable film camera. The design is so completely intuitive, I didn't even look at the manual and was shooting pictures within two minutes of opening the box.

It takes exceptional photos in low light even handheld. Add a tripod, and the lowlight images are truly beautiful. The redeye flash works great, and the variety of settings available to choose from make this much more than a point-and-shoot. (Although leaving the setting on Auto gives consistently beautiful photos.)

The macro setting is particularly good on this camera, with results that remind me of pictures taken with my expensive Nikon film camera.

AVI movies too? Wow, this is a great camera!

It eats batteries with slightly less voracity than other digital cameras, and only uses TWO instead of four, so having a few spares is no trouble. I am planning on purchasing the cradle and rechargables.

Oh, and the zoom lens is wonderful. You can even zoom while shooting AVI movies, which is unusual especially on such a small camera.

The self-timer option is nice, too.

The software is really easy to use, with nice features for tweaking your pictures. I have found, however, that this camera's images rarely require any correction.

Believe the hype that it takes 6 MP quality pictures with only 3.1MP. I don't know how the Fuji folks did it, but they did.

Summary: Another great value from Fuji!!!
Review: This is my second Fuji point and shoot. Isn't the best looking camera in it's class, (Although, I've found the "metal" cased cameras around this price are just metal coated plastic) but the price is very low for a good 3MP. Don't let the low price scare you. Camera is small, light (only 2 AA batteries ) and a dream to carry. Performance is much improved over my older Fuji(which stood it's ground at the time) Point and shoot and you'll end up with GREAT looking pictures. I've taken many pictures with this camera that I know never would have turned out on film. Colors, contrast and white balance are excellent. Pictures require absolutely no tweaking before printing. Even low light and night shots. The Super CCD does a great job in very low light. Pictures don't have that brownish tint that you can get with low-light photography. You have to be realistic about shutter speeds though, and not try to take action shots in the dark without a flash. Camera is very good as far as shutter lag and time between pictures goes. Pull back that big power lever on the front, your lens cap is open, LCD screen is on and you're ready to shoot. Batteries seem to last a good while even though it only uses 2 AA. LCD screen is nice and bright. The Fuji optics are of good quality. I'm sure people are going to complain that the movie mode doesn't have sound when most of the other brands do, but that doesn't bother me. That's what I have a stereo camcorder for. And this camera sells for less than the ones with the sound so...

The xD Picture Cards are nice and small and have no problem fitting into a small camera case for the small camera. 2 extra batteries don't take up much room either as opposed to the 4 still used in some others. The xD Picture Cards DO seem to help with power efficiency as claimed. I'm betting the price will come down a bit more as the larger capacity cards hit the market.

Only negative thing is the lack of an autofocus assist light which some of the other brands now have. Still, the autofocus works very well in most conditions. (far better than most cameras in the past) Only in VERY low light conditions do I have trouble getting a focus lock. The pictures turn out well anyway. (probably defaults to a good fixed focus setting) Might not be the sharpest when enlarged though. I imagine there's a range limit on the cameras that do have the light, so there may be situations where it doesn't work anyway. Again, you DO save money with Fuji and the picture quality stands up to, if not exceeds the rest. (EXCELLENT color and sharpness) Fuji's products are generally pretty reliable. (Hope this holds true here)

I guess my advice is that if your looking for the best possible 3MP, 3X zoom picture quality at a steal of a price... this is it. It has advantages over the other brands that can be easily overlooked, but may matter more in the long run than flashy features.. (size of accessories matches size of camera, good battery life, EXCELLENT pictures under all conditions, all settings work well, small size and weight) If you want a prettier camera with more toys, or have special needs (waterproof case, add on lenses) you'll have to look elsewhere though.

I was so pleased with my last Fuji, I had to choose another. I have no regrets on this one either. Great camera for the money. Old Fuji still works great. Helped a friend choose this camera. After checking it out for awhile, I had to buy one for myself!!! The way smaller size and way better picture quality got to me. Also liked the way sliding one switch got the camera completely ready to shoot.
