Summary: I'm so glad I found this camera!
Review: I had 2 digital cameras before this and I must say I didn't use them much. When I did, my husband the techie in the house had to hook it up, download and it took forever. Therefore, they sat unused for a long time.
This camera is WONDERFUL for even a first time digital user. The dock is a one-touch wonder. I took the pic, put the camera in and touched ONE button! It took me to the site where I can keep them in albums, share online and order prints. I really recommend this if you've never used a digital or are looking for something that is so easy, you won't have to think about it at all.
Affordable as well!

Summary: Great Camera , Great Price !
Review: Ok, first off I owned a kodak dx 6340 , the camera was great , most off the photos I took were action shots of skateboarding , and were all clear. All the features and everything about this camera were great ( except for the flemsy battery and memory card doors ).I had the camera for about 3 months , untill I plugged it into my vcr to watch some short videos I made on my tv . While my camera was plugged into the vcr I , went to turn down the volume on my tv and then some how the static shock from my tv got to the camera , then bam , my camera was ruined . So I brought it back to the store I got it from and they gave me my money back ,so I payed some extra money and got my kodak dx 6440.
I have had my Dx6440 for about a week ,and so far I have shot already about 30 photos , mostly all action shots . All I can say is WOW ! This camera is great , I thought my DX6340 was good but this cameras pictures are excellent. I also enjoy slowing down the shutter speed for great abstract photos . The price of the camera is great , for such an awesome camera . The loading dock for it is great , all I have to do is pop the camera on it and then it charges super fast , so I am ready to take it with me whereever I go . If you are looking for a new camera with around 4MP look no further , because this camera is awesome !

Summary: OK camera, sorry software
Review: Buy the camera, good lens, nice interface, but skip any docking station or software that says "Kodak". Mine quit "recognizing" the camera after a month and nothing; reloading software or upgrading from Kodak's site, has made any improvement. Now I am left with laborious manual processes of mining pix out of the camera. Hey, if you hate Bill Gates, just buy this software... you'll wind up kissing his Microsoft feet.

Summary: much more than expected
Review: I am using Kodak dx6440 only for one week now. It's my first digital camera, and I enjoy very much the new tech. It?s a very good camera with a lot of features that you usually needed much more money to spend, eg 6 continues photos with one click.
What I found very good features:
Instant view of every photo taken, very good lens even with very close themes, 6 continues photos , pretty good flash and lens coordination (women does not appear deadly white) and no redeye needed, very good 4x zoom, more than acceptable video output with audio, handy joystick for browsing and simple-clear interface.
Where I found problems:
Jpeg format of taken pictures (tiff would be better), only 16MB (aprox. 20, 4Mpixel photos) internal memory, unhandy mode selection ring (you need to many clicks to go to PASS-manual mode, and twice as much to return to auto), no rechargeable batteries, included software has problems with win2k SP4 (you need to update on line).
You don't need software for getting your pictures, usb will do the job finely. Connection software (useful right click functions in win explorer) and quicktime installation is very useful, which you will find into software cd.

Summary: Love, Love, Love my Kodak DX6440 Digital Camera
Review: I enjoy simple things. This camera is awesome. Point, click, and download. The color printer that came with my camera produces the most wonderful pictures. I purchased the Kodak 6490 at the same time I bought this one. I figured I'd better get familiar with the basic camera before I attempted using the higher priced, more bells and whistles camera.

I have been so pleased, I returned the 6490, without even opening the box. Whether taking a pic of my new grandson or taking pictures of a house being demolished, inside or outdoors, I couldn't be happier.

Buy it try it, if you don't like it...take it back.

Summary: All-Around Excellent Digital Camera For Everyone
Review: I've been using this camera for over a month now and am completely satisfied with every aspect of it.

I shopped around for quite some time, finally narrowing my decision down to the Kodak DX6440 and the Canon PowerShot S400.

Both are 4MP, which is more than enough for home-use.

What gave the Kodak the edge in my mind are the following:

The Kodak takes regular AA batteries, while the Canon does not. This is important if you find yourself in the middle of some National Park and the rechargeable battery dies. AA batteries are easily found at even the smallest souvenir stand.

The other thing that won me over is the dock. The dock is always plugged into your computer. No retrieving USB cords from a drawer or closet. Simply place the camera on the dock, push a button, and your pictures transfer quickly and easily. Plus, the camera batteries will commence recharging! And, most importantly for our household, WE ALWAYS KNOW WHERE THE CAMERA IS. I can't tell you how many times we'd forget where we put our previous digital camera. Now there's no excuse for putting it anywhere other than on the dock next to the computer.

Those are the two main differences between the DX6440 and the Canon. They both produce stunningly clear photos. The close-up mode on the Kodak is amazing... I've taken pictures one foot away from my subject, with flash, and they turn out as realistic and sharp as can be.

Last, the Kodak EasyShare software is easy to use for organization and simple photo effects (like cropping and red eye elimination), as well as emailing photos to others.

For home and family use, you will not be disappointed with this camera!

Summary: Great pictures and oh so easy to use!
Review: When I decided to get a digital camera, I knew exactly what I wanted--clear pictures and EASY, EASY, EASY! I read the reviews and Kodak kept popping up as a great choice. This surprised me as I really hadn't started out thinking about Kodak cameras--I figured I would probably wind up with a Fuji or Canon, etc. But the more I read, the more impressed I was with the capabilities of this camera: 4 MP, great zoom, easy to make choices, easy to download the pics.

When the camera arrived, I unpacked it quickly and was taking pictures within minutes. It was only later that I opened the manual! This camera just makes sense in the way it does things. Want to shoot in black and white? Press menu, move to Color, select B & W. Shoot your pics. Want to shoot pics in sepia tones for an old-fashioned look? Repeat the process, choose Sepia and you are off and running. Takes no time at all to speak of and the picture quality is great. You can have black and white, color and sepia from frame to frame--love the flexibility and creative muscle of this camera!

Now, you have to understand that I am not a professional photographer--just a grandmother who wants to have fun taking pictures to send to her kids and grandkids!

The battery choices, the easy to use dock that recharges the batteries and download the pictures to the computer with ONE TOUCH, the clear pictures that it takes--this camera is a GREAT VALUE! The camera does the work and YOU can take the credit!

Summary: Junk dont buy
Review: After spending three hours trying to download pictures from the camera to my PC, I have decided to return the camera. In addition the batteries that came with the camera would not charge. I meet a woman at the store where I bought it, she had the same problem.

Don't buy the Kodak camera product. Save yourself the bad experience and get a Cannon. DON'T BUY THIS CAMERA!!!!

Summary: Great Value
Review: I researched digital cameras exhaustively before i chose this one. It has been an absolute dream to use in every way. It took minutes to learn how to use and the controls were very user-friendly. Picture quality has been superb. The only negative aspect of the camera is that there is not a dust cover for the camera aperture like most cameras have. I purchased a 128meg generic memory card for it and i could take pictures for years and not fill it up. Battery power has not yet been an issue, even with heavy use of the LCD screen.

Summary: Incredible Value
Review: This camera packs a LOT of features into a small footprint! One of my biggest fears (before I bought it) was whether or not indoor photos would come out ok. Some reviewers complained of dark photos; no way - not unless you're taking long-range photos inside a dimly lit large area. This camera does a fantastic job taking pictures - indoors or outside.

I also recommend these two items (just search on these product numbers): Samsonite camera bag B00004U4MT and SimpleTech memory chip B00006JI6U. The camera bag fits the Kodak 6440 so well, it's almost as though it was made for it.
