Summary: Very disapointed
Review: First, the shutter is very slow. For any shots with movement, the action is long over by the time the camera actually takes the shot. Second, if you don't shoot in perfect lighting or where it's very well lit, the photos are dark, even if your shooting at close range with a flash. The viewfinder is awful, it takes longer to look through the viewfinder than any other step in taking photos. The quality of the photos are very good but only in color, with perfect lighting. It's nearly impossible to get a good shot, usually the shot is too dark (mostly)or it has far too much contrast between light and dark parts of the shot (poor shading)

Summary: No skeptacism here!
Review: I adore this camera. This is a camera for the intermediate photographer. When I lost my Olympus Stylus, I thought my world was over. But I remebered the things I didn't like about that camera and decided to shop around for a different camera and I came across this one. At first I was a little weary of getting it from the major price difference(I'm still not sure whether or not it was a typo [price quote...]) but I ordered the camera anyway, and let me tell you! This is the best automatic I've seen in a long time. The pictures come out very clear and the zoom is great, Panoramic mode works awesome too. All settings have their purpose, and they work very well. Bulb mode (with or without flash)for star gazing and such, the option of regular flash/ no flash, also the night time setting, not forgetting good ol' automatic. Also there are red eye reduction, landscape, double exposure, and spot focus modes. Like I said before this is not a novice camera. I give this camera 5 stars because I have not found anything I haven't liked about it yet!

Summary: Great camera, fantastic price
Review: I bought this camera to take on vacation. Since I already have the IQZoom 160 I was familiar with how the camera worked. As with the 160, the pictures turned out fantastic and the camera is really easy to work. My pictures are clear and the color is beautiful. Because it is a light weight camera it is easy to carry around sightseeing. I am thinking of buying another one to give as a gift to my daughter and son-in-law since they always want a set of the pictures I take. I have a Canon Rebel 2000 which doesn't give me pictures with as good a quality as the IQZoom (probably operator error). I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants terrific pictures with little muss or fuss.

Summary: I love this camera
Review: I have had this camera for two years and I love it. The viewfinder took some getting used to, but after the 2nd or 3rd roll of film, I never thought about it again. I think the other problems people have posted about are due to using incorrect film speed, and not knowing how to use all of the camera's features. I have found 400 speed film to be the best for most pictures. 200 and 800 speed films have given me dark or blurred pictures if the conditions weren't right. I did use 800 speed for fireworks and the pictures were great. Read the manual!! I have taken fabulous pictures of Tim Mcgraw, Faith Hill, and others in concert, as well as wildlife pictures and animals at the zoo. I have beach pictures where you can see individual drops of water splashing my son in the face. My family is always asking for copies of my pictures. If you want great pictures without hauling a bag full of lenses, then this is the camera to buy.

Summary: Dissappointing
Review: I have previously owned an Olympus that was wonderful. When it broke I was lured into the zoom feature of the Pentax. While the zoom works well, the camera has many drawbacks. First and foremost is the viewfinder. It is near impossible to see what you are shooting especially in dim light. Indoor pictures quality is dissappointing also. I can shoot two pictures back-to-back of the same subject and one will be fine while the other is dark. (The flash indicator says it was ready.) I am looking for a new camera now. It was a very expensive lesson.

Summary: Read the Instructions - then it's worth it!
Review: I've had this camera since November of 2000 - I've been throughly pleased. The zoom is amazing, and I still get clear shots when I use Kodak 400 film. One thing though, the camera has a dial with 5 settings. Don't make my mistake and blow off the directions! Big mistake! While some of the features on the dial are very cool, I didn't find much use for them. The camera is a bit heavy and slightly bulky (like other Pentax's) and it does run through batteries fairly quickly... but these things are minor; Overall I give it 4 stars, great pictures when you use the camera properly!
