Summary: Very frustrating - has manny faults
Review: When I bought my cd burner, I got it as an open box deal for about 60% off the regular price. Since it was an open box, it was missing the remote and owner's manual. It was such a good deal that I can't complain too much. However, I do want to worn you that this machine is not worth the the retail price listed here or in most stores. It is a very annoying machine. For one thing, it doesn't always seperate the tracks so one has to sit their and watch it or run back and forth trying to get to it in time before the next track starts to mannually seperate the tracks. (Well, at least its a real work out and you can burn lots of calories.) Another annoying feature is that it won't start recording until after you start the source you are recording from. That makes it difficult to record off vinyl and get the record cued up just right every time especially when you have a pickup arm that has a mind of its own! The most annoying thing though and i don't know if this is just a defect that effects the one i bought or what, every now and then, in the middle of a recording, without warning, the burner will say "disc error" and there is nothing that can be done about it as far as i can tell. it won't let you record anything more, nor will it let you finalize the cd. It tends to do this often, and after having wasted an hour or so making the cd, not to mention the money spent on the cd which is no longer useable,it can make a person want to scream out of frustration. Has anyone else experienced this disc error problem with their cd burner? I do have three good things to say about the product. Its pretty darn easy to figure out how to use. I didn't have an owner's mannual or a remote and i had never used a cd burner in my life but i figured out how to use this one in a matter of minutes just by experimenting. Also, the sound quality of the cd's made with this machine is wonderful, as good as the original recording! And cds made on this machine can be played back on any cd player, they even work on my boom box and on my dad's cd ancient cd players from the mid 80's. I got a good deal on this product, but if you have to pay the regular price for it, i'd say forget it, its not worth it.
