Summary: An annoying dumbed-down bait and switch...
Review: ...but then, you get what you pay for.

No black cartridge, no usb cable. If you buy a black catridge, won't recognise it unless you physically remove the color cartridge ... AND restart windows! And no greyscale! C'mon hp, this last bit is just software; the drivers for your older low end printers supported leaving both cartidges in and using greyscale. With this driver, there's even a combo box for selecting the desired print cartridge configuration...but it's been disabled! Such a naked move to force people to buy more cartridges.

Folk, avoid this one if you can. It's no bargain. Spend a little more money up front and get printer with greyscale, and that includes BOTH a color and a black ink cartridge, AND a USB cable.

Summary: What a Surprise!
Review: A printer for $39.00 dollars that prints well. I purchased this printer for one of my clients who wanted to travel with her laptop, but didn't want to part with over 300 smackers for a portable job.
This printer is lightweight, not that big, although it won't fit in her laptop bag, it will fit in a small suitcase. I advised her if she didn't like it; give it to the kids.
For the price, it did the trick. It was faster than I expected and printed better than expected. Since the paper also feeds in on the bottom, no paper jams like top feeders.
Printer only includes a black cartridge. It also uses a color cartridge, but can print with just the black cartridge. Great for printing web pages, kids, and small jobs. Since it connects only with USB, it's not suitable for older machines.

Summary: Excellent for the price
Review: Does everything as advertised. I got this to go with my lap top. I use a heavier duty hp on the desktop. Easy to hook up and disconnect. Light enough and simple enough to use so that the wife just loves using it. Great for the price but do not expect it to be the "heavy duty" printer in your life.

Summary: Easy and convenient
Review: Good enough for school homework and assignments, reasonable size and price and easy to use. The only problem I have is the price of the ink, quite expensive, (...). Over all, I'm happy and satisfied with this printer.

Summary: This one's going back!!
Review: How disappointing! I don't require much from a printer (My main use is making cards for my Grandchildren and printing photos), so I THOUGHT this would be a GREAT bargain! WRONG!! After I FINALY got it to work (somewhat!?), it ate the paper, and if it didn't do THAT, then the paper got JAMMED and had to be pulled out! It also stops printing in the middle of something; The green power button continues flashing; and you're left high and dry as to WHAT to do next! In the span of a Sunday afternoon (which turned out to be ANYTHING but PLEASANT!!), I was able to print out TWO cards! I've owned 2 other printers, and this one is by far the worst! I'm just waiting for the store to open to RETURN IT!

Summary: Good printer for home use.
Review: I got this around three months ago. I do not print photos using this printer, but for printing documnets it does a good job. Fot 40$ its a good investment.

Summary: ramware
Review: I got this printer from WM. It was easy to setup and worked without any issues. But... it takes forever to print at 2400dpi setting. if you print at 600 X 600 photo then will take around 10 min for 8X10 photo. The ink which came with the printer will print only about 10 8X10 photos. But overall this is ok printer for the price.

Summary: Great printer deal, but only if you know its limits
Review: I had the advantage, I guess, of buying this in a store (Target) so I could tell by reading the outside of the box (duh) that no USB cable or B&W ink cartridge was included. I have extra USB cables around the house and went ahead and bought a B&W cartridge for the printer right away.

Reading some of the reviews here, I conclude that customers who bought the HP Deskjet 3520 from an online seller didn't have the opportunity to know what was and wasn't included. I can understand why they would be unhappy.

I bought this printer to replace an older HP deskjet that finally breathed its last (hey, it survived such incidents as having pretzels dropped into its works) while hooked up to my notebook in my little upstairs computer cart nook. My main printer is an HP Officejet 7130 workhorse, so I didn't need another printer to handle photos or cards. I've become spoiled by being able to print out web pages and other things from my second-string wireless surfing location away from the main office in the basement and so wanted a new second-string printer.

I finally decided to go with this printer because it's lightweight, and I can pack it along on a road trip when I take my Winbook.

It has performed very reliably for me, printing on plain paper, and the software includes the HP "preview" function as well as a cartridge ink level monitor.

As with any low-price inkjet printer, you have to realize that the cost of the printer is going to be less than the cost of feeding it more than once or twice with cartridges, even if you economize with remanufactured cartridges. You can save more money if you can successfully refill cartridges, but my only forays into that created more mess than value so I'll leave that to more capable folks.

I would certainly NOT recommend this printer for photo printing, or expect it to handle greeting card stock. It's very good within its limits.

Summary: Great little printer
Review: I have just purchased this printer to use with my laptop when I travel. The printer is lightweight and the front door opens up to store the paper tray so that it is easy to bring along.

It does not come with black ink, but does have an open slot for the ink cartridge. The color cartridge that comes with it does a good job at printing black, but this will get expensive over time as you burn it up to print black. It is also lacking a USB cable which is kind of annoying. With the black ink and the USB cable, you can add about 25 dollars to this printer to get the "true" price.

The print quality has been very good and the print speed is quick. I have had no problems at all with this printer.

Summary: Less is More!
Review: I love this printer because of it's ease of use and print quality in relation to the low price. The ink cartridges are easily refilled using the same bulk ink I use to refill my 56 & 57 cartridges. Two minor complaints: no greyscale option for b&w printing and on occasion, when printing cardstock, the paper will misfeed. It works flawlessly with regular paper, though.

I own a vastly more versatile HP 6110 multi-function that is impressive, but the software that came with it doesn't play well with either of my computers. This printer's software is much simpler and crash-free. Ultimately, I often end up using it instead of the 6110 because the software glitches always occur when I don't have the time to play computer technician.

I print business cards, postcards for mass mailings, contracts, photos, you name it. This doesn't do professional quality photos, but not all of us need that function. The photos even are good enough, believe me. The print quality is amazing when all things are considered.

I also liked that this model comes with a 1yr. warranty, vs. 90 days on most cheaper models. You do have to buy a black ink cartridge, but if you refill them like I do it's a minor expense.

Don't let a low price rule this one out!
