Summary: Awesome photots
Review: The Epson 785EPX does a fantastic job. I liked the results on regular photo inkjet paper. I was awestruck with the results when I put a sheet of the Premium Glossy Photo paper thru the printer. The results looked like my film prints. Excellent. The manuals and instructions actually work! I'm very satisfied with my initial trials. The film factory program is quite good.

Summary: programs and pizza cutters
Review: I love this printer. My probelm is that my friends disk she got seperated the photo fantasy and all the other programs. My combined into 1 called photoimpression 3.0. I want the older disk because the seperate programs are easier to use. All I need is the older disk number, so I can give it to epson. For some reason they just can't do it. Hopefully someone knows and can help. ALSO, pizza cutters, take a screw driver and pop out the white plastic clips that hold them. It's pretty easy. Although its easier to unscrew the top and the bottom, they should weasel out.

Summary: programs and pizza cutters
Review: I bought this printer and it is great. My problem is that the disk that my friend got with the same printer seperated photo fantasy and photo impression. All I need is the disk number so I can give it to epson, for some reason they can't get me the older disk. Hopefully someone knows and can help. ALSO, for the track marks. Open up the top of the printer, pop out the white clips on the bottom which hold the "pizza cutters". I did that and I don't have those stupid marks, and the paper feeds and prints with no problem. ...

Summary: Breathtaking photo quality
Review: The photo quality beats even my wildest expectations. No cog wheel marks, contrary to some of the reviews here. But you have to be cautious about a few things while operating, for the very best results (which I categorize as 'breathtaking'): (1) Use Epson Premium Photo paper, even Kodak won't do that great (2) In printer setup, make sure your print media is chosen correctly (don't set it to plain paper when you're using photo paper, and vice versa) (3) Set the print speed to low and not high, for best photos.
I had some problems with the B&W printing, but cleaning the print head once using the software fixed the problem. I can't imagine a better product for [the price]

Summary: Absolutely the best photo printer ever!
Review: I have read both the positive and negative reviews of this printer prior to making my decision to purchase it. I am extremely glad that I made the decision to "upgrade" from my more expensive HP photosmart P1100 (...) to the Epson Photo 785epx (...). I have printed two 8x10 photos on the included glossy and matte paper and a borderless 8 1/2x 11 on matte paper. I have only used the 1440dpi print mode and with the quality of prints that I recieved at this setting, I see no reason to print at 2880dpi. I cannot find one negative aspect of this printer, even the ink is inexpensive - half the price of my previous printer. I don't think that it is possible to find a better quality printer..., but if you do, please let me know. I never imagined actually saying this about digital, but I think that the output is even better that film and chemical prints. All I can say is where's the sixth star?

Thank you Epson!!!

Summary: I Can't Believe the Quality!
Review: We've taken over 3,500 pictures of our kids with our 3 Megapixel digital camera. We occasionally printed them on our Lexmark inkjet, but they didn't look like photographic prints, even when using glossy paper.

I heard that this Epson printer was good, but... Wow! We are just stunned at how fantastic the prints look. I'd say they're as good as drugstore prints from 35mm film. The USB interface helps it print much faster than our old Lexmark.

When printing 8 x 10's with highest quality, the printer uses up a lot of ink. Buy at least two extra color cartridges with this printer.

The unit arrived from Amazon promptly, was well-packed, and the installation poster was very easy to follow. Installation and compatibility have been flawless so far. This printer has greatly exceeded my expectations. For its price, I wasn't expecting such incredible quality. I'm not sure how much more quality you can get from a more expensive printer.

Summary: Great printer, but what an ink hog
Review: I have to agree with the majority of the other reviewers: this is an excellent printer that produces outstanding photos as long as you use Epson photo paper. It is a little noisy, but being long used to noisy printers, that doesn't bother me. However, this thing is an ink hog! I used up the color cartridge that came with the printer in less than a day. Luckily, there are a number of sources on the web in which cartridges are available for considerably less than retail...

Summary: The Best for the price bar none!!
Review: I purchased the785epx based on reviews from the Amazon web site. I therefor feel obligated to give back an honest appraisal of my findings.
From the moment I set it up, to the first print, I was in awe of the technology out there. My first reaction was, if this is that good what must the more expensive printers be like. Well, curiosity killed the cat. You may find a better printer out there, but not within a few hundred dollars of this baby. The big crticism is it's noise. Think of it as a child who gives you more pleasure at the end of the day but annoyed you ever so briefly! The results are comparable to any prints you may have gotten from a photo lab, only quicker! The price has dropped since I bought it. Jump on it while you have the chance!!!!!

Summary: Great Printer for the Price
Review: I have owned this printer for 2 weeks now and have to say I am impressed with the results. I have printed about 10 Full page prints. Yes it does use ink, but the quality when using epson paper is fantastic. The Quality looks just like pictures from an analog camera sent out for developing. It is fairly quiet and takes ~10 seconds to clean the heads when first starting. I have only used the 1440 and 720 dpi modes. I prob will never use the 2880(only for a test maybe)dpi because what I have read form reviews..there is only a difference when looking under >4x Magnification. So far so good.
