Summary: Mhh I hope not all of the printers are this stuborn
Review: I baught this printer when they just showed up and payed $120. It worked without problems for about one year. Then I started having problems with simple black on white printing. The cartrige was defected. I called customer service, which by the way were wery helpfull and nice and sent me another cartridge for free. Well this one was fine but the problem isn't in the cartrige. The printer started spacing out some lines on the document or cut the entire end of the document. (I have wind. XP). The scanner is very good if you want to keep the copies on your computer, but if you want to print it ...bad quality.
Sofweare that comes with the printer isn't the greatest too. The ink level sensor shows nonsense. Also if you want to stop your document before printer placed the sheet of paper under the printing head it is basically imposible without grabing it with your hand...the softweare is not responsive enough.
Black and white copy (brightness resolution) option is worthless. That is if you want make your copy darker or lighter you don't have many options. Well obviously now this printer is half the price and if you think it is worth the risk buying it do it...Also the ink doesn't soak into the paper fast enough making labels and placing them on, brushing with your hand over the letters makes them blurrrrry. Personally I thought I'd give a new make a chance but...I'm done with Lexmark products. I've owned a CANON and HP ...translating in english it means quality.

Summary: So Far So Good..
Review: I got this as a present for X-mas and haven't had any problems with it. Its a bit on the slow side, the print quality is about average, but all else is what I would expect from a low end printer.

Summary: Poor Performer
Review: I have owned the X75 for nearly 5 months and it has been nothing but constant problems. It would never perform as advertised. First, the cartridges were haywire. Then the software balked; then stopped altogether. Save your money and go to the local copier shop. In 5 months I got no more than 5 decent color photo copies and none from scanning/enlarging. Terrible.

Summary: Lexmark does not honor their rebate offers
Review: I purchased a Lexmark printer. One of the deciding factors is there was a rebate offer if I purchased an ink cartridge at the same time. To make a long story short, I sent the rebate in well in advance of the deadline, almost 2 months after the deadline I got a letter stating I had to send the proof-of-purchase (which I had sent and they returned it to me. It is the original, full p-o-p with part of the box cardboard still attached. I returned everything back to them. 2 months later, I get my unopened envelope sent back to me with a stamp stating "Return to Sender - Offer Expired"

As far as I'm concerned, Lexmark is a scam and I don't know how great their printers are, I will NEVER purchase anything from them again. It may seem like a piddly thing, but how many people have they done this too? Is this how they handle repairs and customer service? I don't trust them. I will not be replacing the cartridges in my printer, I'd rather buy a new printer.
