Summary: Great print quality
Review: The print quality is outstanding. However, the noise is a bit more than annoying. I read the reviews about the noise and thought, a little squeaking could not be that bad. Well, it is this fingernails-on-the-chalkboard kind of sound that goes about thirty seconds longer than you think you can stand it. I recommend you go another way ..... Unless you're deaf.

Summary: Excellent Printer
Review: The printer produces close to professional quality prints. It is very inexpensive to produce those prints, although the cartridges are 10 ml as opposed to the standard 15 ml they are still less than half the cost.I had a lexmark printer before this one and i'll always have a canon. The cartridges are the BCI-24 black $6.00 and BCI-24C Color $18.00. I highly recommend this Printer!

Summary: Excellent and Cheap Cartridges
Review: There are too many great things to say about this excellent and very inexpensive printer. So I will only add one that I have not read elsewhere: unlike virtually all other non-Canon printers, the cartridges are very inexpensive and really last. The quality of pictures out of this printer is amazing, especially considering the price. I have four other printers, one of which is another excellent newer Canon. Canon used to make the best printers, but they fell behind a few years ago. Now they have taken the lead again, in my book when all is considered. The digital card version of this printer is also excellent.

Summary: My best printer yet.
Review: This is without a doubt the best printer I have purchased, (5).
The last 3 were Epson. It prints text fine and fast. Photos are really great, better than on the Epson 820 Photo that I had prior to this. Ink cartridges are very reasonable, generics are fine. Prints great on all the various papers that I have, even low cost gloss photopaper.
I have read where some users have complained that it was noisy. My wife and I agree that the i450 is very quiet, and that without using the "quiet mode".
There are plenty of settings available if needed.
This is a great buy, go for it.

Summary: Great printer--would buy it again
Review: This printer does a great job with black text and the occasional color use I've required from it (please note--I have not used this printer for photo printing). It is fast, offers nice quality, and is easy to resupply.

As with almost any printer nowadays, shop around for ink, and consider ink supplies besides the major brand names.

Also, for most jobs, this printer produces acceptable quality when using a Draft mode--unless you get your ink for free, consider doing all but the most important docs in Draft mode.

By the way, setup in Mac X and WinXP was a breeze.

Summary: Great Little Printer!
Review: This truly is a great little printer for the money. I am using it to replace by Brother MFC 7300c(if I knew how bad of a printer it was I never would have bought it. Especially for the price you pay). The color is great on printed items. It prints pretty quick. I am so glad I got it.

Summary: Dead after less than a year
Review: This was a great printer...Crisp clear graphics and text. But it just recently started printing "foggy" lots of fuzzy text. Then the black stopped printing altogether. The color printed fine but NO BLACK. Not exactly helpful for printing papers. Canon help desk was very quick getting back to me about the problem. Probably a bad print head, but it should be taken to a fixit shop to get checked out. Fixit shop wants $75 just to look at it, which is applied to the first hour of labor if we have it fixed. Print head runs about $45. I can buy a whole new one for that! I would by a Canon again but definately get the extended warranty.

Buy the comparable ink from Carrot Ink.com. Cost alot less. Refilling doesn't not work with Canon. This was my 2nd Canon and refilling the cartridges didn't work with either.
