Summary: LOVELY :)
Review: ...

Saw this at circuit city for ... bucks .. I thought .. well at 50 bucks it is worth a try.

Review .. This is awesome !... I'm burning 192+ kbps music, for ... bucks, you get a nice mp3 player (lcd could be better, the only drawback though) and yea it is small, I can put it in my jeans pocket, adapter, 3 cd'rs, a case, and a decent set of headphones, though I wanna get one of those noise cancelling headphones eventually. The sound quality is very very decent.

I haven't had any hanging/skipping problems and I've used this unit for about 1 week now (heavily).

For 50$, I'd say .. YES YES .. and .. OH YESSS !! This is a no brainer :).

Summary: Good for the money, I guess
Review: Every time I purchase a new electronic toy, I tell myself not to buy the no-name brand. Then, without fail, I buy the no-name brand (for price, or features, or both). In every instance, I get burnt, wishing I had bought for quality instead.
With that said, I'm really not sure what to think about this little guy. It plays perfectly, seems genuinely skip-free, and has some pretty nice features. BUT. . . I've gone through three units because the LCD screen rarely works, and the ID3-tag scrolling is almost too slow to be useful.
For the money, this is quite the value. If you're thinking about buying one and you're worried about price, go ahead and do it--as long as you're not anticipating a useful LCD. If, however, you can afford something else, buy from someone you can trust.

Summary: Too large
Review: I almost bought this player, until I actually saw it and it was much larger than I expected. Almost the size of a regular CD player.

Summary: Not good, Not bad
Review: I bought this a few weeks ago and thought I got what I paid for. The belt pouch that it comes with has no holes to access the buttons, but it fits easily into my back pocket and a little more conspicuously into my front. It doesn't come with a burning program, but I'd been meaning to buy one anyway. There's a slight buzz in the background when I use my earphones, (Labtec curve 465), but it's not too noticeable if you listen to fast paced music, (AC/DC, Metallica, Ozzy, etc.)and you get used to it to the point of tuning it out after a while. Once in a while the buttons get bumped, which would make some kind of hold function a plus, were it equipped with one. I listen to music hours on end while I'm going through my daily routine and noticed that the battery life is a little lacking. The search function is impressive, but somewhat unnecessary unless you burn your CDs at an excessively low bit rate. All of this was expected however, and I'm not upset in the least upset about it. I am upset that the LCD screen just quit on me without cause. Apparently this is a fairly common occurrence and I'm hoping that it can be repaired.

Summary: Bad LCD
Review: I have the same problem as Joe. I bought this from Circuit City. The same night I bought it, the LCD starts messing up. First it gives me upside down invert text, other times, it gives me Big test where I can not read it right. I exchanged that one. This one dose not have the same problem with the LCD. This problem causes the LCD to not show up at all. It plays great but I want to be able to change to different songs. I can not change to different songs if I can not see the options.

Summary: Classic CM800 Great Deal
Review: I just bought one of these little gems, and wish I had sooner. It is a great buy, you will not be disappointed. I read the other reviews, and the one regarding the player as a fluke, well it must have been just that, because this is a real gem. Plenty of volume, easy to operate, and the display is real cool, it shows musician/artists name, and also the name of the song when it plays the mini-cd. Took me 12 minutes to burn 1 hours worth of music in MP3 format to a mini-disc. I did this just to test it. I am please beyond words. The only drawbacks, which also were mentioned in another review is that the display is not illuminated. Not a big deal to me, and also like the other person said, an illuminated display sucks up the battery. Also, the headsets are adequate, but for those who are fussy, you can buy another headset. I didn't buy this thing to see it glow in the dark, or for the headsets. Well worth the money, go get one. And no, I do not own stock in the company, I am just very pleased with the player. Comes with Case, 3 mini-cds, headset, and AC supply, all you need is batteries to use it portable.
