Summary: Cheap in price and cheap on key features
Review: This is a fairly decent player. The interface is okay and it does what it is supposed to for the most part. While the player does handle ID3 tags (something other players lack), it fails to properly play VBR and does not support multi-session discs. These two glaring flaws kill it in mybook....

One other feature which I would love to see and I'm not sure if any player supports it is volume normalization. It is aggravating to have different level tracks and have to fumble with the volume.

Summary: Shopping and decided
Review: I compared this item with others in this price class. Once you compare features and add the included ac cord, headphones, etc. it seems like a best buy. I HAVE LEFT MY NOTE FOR SANTA! I will follow up on this review (hopefully) after Christmas.

Summary: Memorex MPD8505CP ROCKS!!
Review: This player is excellent. By using CD format, this makes memory/playtime very affordable. This player supports ID3 tags, which makes searching great. It allows you to randomize MP3 playback as well as repeat within MP3 directory! I also like that it comes WITH the car adaptor as well as the home power adaptor-- it is ready to go right out of the box. They give you headphones to use with the headphone jack and have a separate line-out jack to connect to your existing stereo or even computer speakers. This product does not skip! ... .

Summary: Great CD player
Review: This thing has a quite good anti-skip protection (45 seconds) and is quite handy if you have a CD burner. Although you can't play MP3's without burning them on CD, it's still a great product. You don't see any equally priced Sony CD players that have MP3 ability or anywhere near as much anti-skip time. Even if you use a jack-hammer you don't get many skips.

This is a good buy!

Summary: Worked at first, then went downhill from there
Review: I bought this product about 3 weeks ago. I thought at first, what a great deal. It worked absolutely fine with regular burned cd's that I had made on my computer. I also burned an MP3 CD with about 120 songs on it. It also worked pretty well. After about 1 week of use it was still working fine. One thing I did not like at all was the 25+ second start up to play a MP3 CD. I found this to be a very long time to wait for it to start up. The 4 line LCD screen was great. The buttons felt pretty crappy to push and it was pretty fat and heavy... Soon i started to see many problems. My MP3 CD no longer wanted to play correctly. Many times it would start up and after playing the first 4 songs, stop the music, search for the next track for about 20 seconds then display "Disc Error". I would restart the system, wait another long 25 seconds, and start the cd over. About 4 tracks later the same thing happened. This (ticked) me off. So i burned another cd. This didn't solve the problem. I couldnt skip tracks, or else "Disc Error" would appear.Instead i would have to search for the track, then play it. Also, this did not always work. I got really (ticked) and wanted my money back. I returned it and now am getting a Rio Volt SP90. I heard it got great reviews with no "Disc Error" ever! Don't waste your money. If only the (darn) thing would work, i would be happy.

Summary: Not so durable
Review: this was a great cd/mp3 player....for about 65 days. I used it very lightly-about 20 minutes a day walking to class, then all of a sudden it won't recognize cds, it always says "no disc." beware of this because amazon won't take exchanges or returns after 30 days, and now I'm out 50 bucks.
