Summary: Maxell tapes tested for outdoor television
Review: Being in the outdoor television business, we shoot hundreds of hours of footage while traveling all across the country. Our cameras(Sony Vx's & CanonXL1's)are in all different types of temperature extremes from the cold of Canada to the heat of Africa- and more times than not, you get only one chance to capture a shot in the wild.

Historically, we had used Sony mini-dv tape stock but recently had the opportunity to try the Maxell DVM tapes. Much to my dismay, I must report that they did not pass with flying colors. We experienced many drop outs in the video and audio with these tapes which were tried in weather that ranged from sunny and 70 to dismal and 43. We shot Sony tapes the same day, same camera and had no problems with the Sony tapes.

Yes, the price was great but for someone that depends on the tape stock to perform in order to make a living- I would not recommend using the Maxell DVM tapes again.

Respectfully submitted, Denny Snyder- Exec. Producer Pennsylvania Outback Outdoor Television
