Summary: Great buy for the Price!
Review: I bought my CD Player back in December, and it has not failed me yet! The car adapter waorks very well, and the unit itself offers okay sound. For the price of this item, you have to know that you aren't going to get "state of the art" anything - but the anti-skip feature has worked fine for me, the sound is fine and I utilize the "Hold" switch (which keeps the unit's buttons from being accidenatlly pressed) and the Bass Boost. The Bass Boost is pretty wimpy, although I must admit that I've never tried it with good-quality headphones, which might change the sound considerably. Speaking of headphones, my included pair did break about three months after I started using them. I simply replaced them with another cheap pair.

Complaints of short battery life can probably be attributed to the user leaving the anti-skip protection on for long periods of time. In my experience, this will drain the batteries faster than anything else, when using any CD player. If you need to use the batteries for an extended time, try to *not* use the Skip Protection, or else try to find a way to use one of included two adapters. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase, although your mileage may vary.

In conclusion, I must say that if you are looking for top-quality sound and construction, look elsewhere; if you just need something to play your CDs in and you can't afford to spend a lot of cash, this one's for you.

Summary: There's a better deal than this one.
Review: I bought this because of the car kit and it was reasonable priced. But you get what you paid for. I found out that the skip protection doesn't even work. Also the sound quality, with headsets, really stinks! Also, I have to buy a lot of batteries. It's cheap so you get what you pay for but stay away from this thing! You can find a better deal.

Summary: Maybe it's just my bad luck, but . . .
Review: I received a GPX CD player (same model as this but older version) for Christmas. I used it pretty regularly for about a month (during which I was very happy with it) and then put it away for a while. The next time I used it, it wouldn't recognize any CD.

We returned it and received a new "updated" version which again worked for about a month. It has now been a month since I last used it and once again, it is not reading my CDs.

My advice? Don't try this one unless you enjoy being frustrated!

Summary: You want a cheap CD Player? You got it...
Review: I was on a tight budget when my otherwise reliable CD player (A MagnaVox) of 3 years died on me. I bought this one because I needed a cheap CD player with skip protection and a car adapter. I found the car adapter did not work, however, and so used my old one. The skip protection , moreover, is slow and fails frequently - often with little or no reason. In addition, it occasionally stops working for no apparent reason. As one final gripe, the sound quality is pretty mediocre (especially with the headphones.)

My recommendation? I suppose you could do worse, but not by much. If you want a cheap CD player, that's precisely what you'll get.

Summary: A very good buy!
Review: I was very impressed with this product, and the accompanying car kit was very welcome. There should be no qualms about the merit of this product other than three factors which I found quite significant, namely:

An EL backlight for the LCD display is absent. The Dynamic Bass Boost would seem to be lacking. The volume cannot be taken to extremely high levels.

Other than the above, the programming modes and the other features are well structured and physically laid out. On the whole, I would call this a very good value-for-money item.

Summary: Worthless
Review: I've had this for less than a day, and am already tempted to chuck it out the window. The anti-skip feature apparently works by just randomly stopping the music altogether...ingenious.

This is just a piece of crap. Really, that about sums it up.
