Review: This phone is a great deal for the price. No Contracts! Which is great. You get FREE voicemail, caller ID, and call waiting. Plus, you can send a receive text messages and even AOL IM messages via text! The set up is very easy and the design is nice.

Summary: tracfone service & how to get free minutes
Review: Tracfone service has always been awful. They clearly contract it out to an overseas cust svc unit, and the chaos and truculence has been lousy. HOWEVER, I had a problem recently and was dreading having to deal with them. I got the first guy I talked to to create a case number, though, even tho he wouldn't give me the minutes they owed me. He told me to retry the website in 2 hrs. I did, no joy. BUT when I called them back and gave the case number, and was very friendly, the CSR (after first trying to buy me off with a bonus code that I can get anywhere) knuckled sweetly and gave me what they owed me. They're learning! Just keep track of things and get the names of the reps you talk to. And an average customer never really has to deal with them anyhow.

you have to use the referral to sign up; if you've already signed up it's too late.

Also, it's a LOT easier if you're not using a hotmail address for the referral, as I found out the hard way. (It's that goofy way that Hotmail puts links inside a Hotmail frame - it interferes with the tracfone webcodes.)
