Summary: For some it's good, for most it's stressful
Review: I bought Sidekick two weeks ago and was very dissapointed by its signal reception provided by T-Mobile.
Great organizer, horrible bulky phone. I would not recommend this device for an everyday-use.

I ended up canceling my subscription to T-Mobile and returned the device. No more stress.

Summary: I cannot put it down!
Review: I was skeptical about the sidekick because it was so different from every other cell phone I had owned. The flip screen is cool but the functionality is AMAZING. I can surf the web like the real web. Not little bits of text on a wap phone. It has helped me out when I was looking for a restaurant, an airplane schedule, a car rental place, look of words on dictionary.com, search google for stuff, etc. I really think I would have a hard time going back to life without it. The email is really cool too. And I also like the instant messanger. It is real time, not clunky at all. It is great to be able to keep in touch with friends, especially when we are trying to hook up for dinner or something and you can chat about where you want to go, etc. I have gotten a couple of my friends to get them and it is awesome when we can chat while walking around.

Someone said there was no copy and paste but there is copy and paste when I got the latest update which automatically installed itself without me dealing with connecting it to a computer or anything. It also added a calculator and some games. Super cool!

My reccomendation is that everyone should get one but be careful, you can't go back to a regular cell phone, EVER!

Summary: not happy.....
Review: The product was good....but the T-Mobile Plan was not. After one year of having 200 free minutes and 1,000 anytime minutes...I was told the plan is no longer valid and was given a new plan of 60 minutes and 200 anytime minutes for the same price as before. I was also charged twice for the Sidekick Data monthly service charge; which was corrected after my phone call...but was not explained why it happened. I was told that this happens often.

So...back to the cell phone again!

Again...the Sidekick is a good product.

Summary: Not for Business Use - Great for Teenagers
Review: Had to return mine in less than 14 days! Having used a BlackBerry RIM for several years and many Palm and CE devices, this has some nice features but do not plan to use the phone very seriously and some very basic features of the BlackBerry are not available on this device, the biggest missing feature is NO copy or cut and paste of text!! Very limited memory to store more than a couple days of email, attachments are viewable but not readable because you can not enlarge them enough to read!

Holds great promise and I am sure that the next generation of these devices will be improved.

Business Buyer Beware!

Summary: so far so good
Review: I purchased this phone in the store (im kicking myself for not checking amazon first for this great pricing).

the phone works nicely -- absolutely no complaints from me thus far -- the always on is a GREAT feature if your company uses AIM for business communication or if a lot of your friends are on it

Happy with my purchase -- sad that i didnt check with amazon first

Summary: Great Device!
Review: Ive had my Color Sidekick for over a month now. It has really become an important part of day to day life with me. It's everything I need, on the go. The signal in my area is actually pretty good (North Texas/Dallas). The Sidekick lets you do so much that normally I would have to get to my pc for. It does take some getting used to. The only negative point I can think of about this device is that it's a bit fragile. If you are a person who always drops and beats up cell phones, you may want to hold off on this one. One good drop from a few feets height and It seems like it could break it. After all, it is just a little handheld computer. But overall, a great device!

Summary: Sidekick a great gadget, works great, too
Review: I'm really pleased, overall, with my new Sidekick. I've had it less than a month, but I've used it in all the places I need it & in JFK airport. It's great for getting email & some non-javascript websites. That's one drawback, no javascript. And I was a little diappointed that I got the phone on a Wednesday afternoon but couldn't use the website with my number until Friday morning. I called T-mobile and complained & they gave me a $5 credit off the activation fee on my account. But the desktop interface, once it is connected, is great. I didn't even make the right kind of file to upload and it took my schedule & contacts from Outlook with no problem. Tech support was great, too. It wouldn't start up after the first time I shut it down and the woman was a big help. I got it going really fast & have been using it well ever since. The only other drawback is the address book isn't useable if there's no emsil signal. I don't go to Europe that often, but when I tried writing letters to individuals that would go out when I get back, it wouldn't let me. There has to be an email signal to write letter. So it isn't perfect, but I get a lot of admiring looks when people see the little keyboard & the photos I can get in email or take myself. The belt clip case that came with the unit heas fallen off a few times when I bent over, so I wouldn't suggest staying with just that case, but all in all, it's a great unit. I don't have AOL so can't check the instant messenger, but I'm really glad I bought it. Even with the drawbacks I mentioned, I still give it 5 stars. Great little piece of equipment!

Summary: Simply Awesome
Review: Sidekick is totally cool. This month, I received new OS update (delivered free over the air) and that made my Sidekick even better with more features.

Summary: COVERARE SUCKS!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY
Review: I would rate this ZERO stars if I could. This is the worst PHONE in the world. I can't get a signal on major roads, shopping malls, etc. NO COVERAGE. If it comes in at all, it will quickly drop the call.

T-MOBILE HAS THE WORST COVERAGE IN THE WORLD. I TELL YOU IF YOU PLAN ON MAKING A PHONE OR DOING A WEB SEARCH ON THIS PHONE YOU WILL REGRET IT.

The PHONE is clunky - there's no 10-digit keypad, so you type in phone numbers like you would on a keyboard - very difficult to use. The shape of the phone is awkward too.

If you are looking for a PHONE - DON'T GET THIS.

If you expect to use this to surf the web - forget it - NO COVERAGE.

The AIM feature is nicely integrated and works well - when I can get a signal.

Summary: My Sidekick rocks!!!
Review: I use my Sidekick all the time and I can't imagine life without it. It's small, has an amazing battery life, and is one of the coolest products on the market. The user interface is very easy to follow and the keyboard is easy to use, too. The Sidekick is perfect for people who always want to stay connected at a VERY affordable price!!! And the service plans aren't bad, either - $30/month for *unlimited* data! You can be emailing people and surfing all day long wherever you are for almost nothing! I tell everyone to get one - you'll be very happy with this purchase!
