Summary: There are better things to buy
Review: (...) It does not match with other pioneer line of products. It's music quality, especially in the low frequency range (Drums, sexaphone etc) is very very bad. However, it could be used as a bed side system

Summary: Enjoyable/pretty/crisp
Review: I bought this system a few weeks ago on a total impulse buy. I'm running a great Harman/Kardon stereo with 5.1 and I really didn't need it. However, the Harman takes up a lot of space and I go to college, so I liked the idea of a smaller system.

Here's why I don't like it: The motion sensor is highly sensitive to motion of any type. When you get the stereo, the default setting is to open it (the CD door) at any nuance of motion. However, this setting should be changed immediately. Which brings me to my second gripe. The menus and setups are fairly counter-intuitive. It took me a few days to figure everything out, but I'm sure an hour or two with the manual would do me some good. And, my final gripe: quality was not exactly where I want it to be. The stands for the speaker are el cheapo plastic and the first system I received was riddled with defects. I sent it back to Amazon and got a new one that worked well immediately (thanks, guys).

Here's why I like it: Number one, the price is right. For $..., you can't beat it. And, unlike most products they sell, Amazon had the best price on the internet. Number two, it's wall mountable, which saves massive amounts of space. It even comes with a nice little template which you can use to put the right holes in your wall. The subwoofer produces nice lows and you can tweak the treble, bass, and woofer levels on your own, which I much prefer to the "audio environments" that have become so popular in times of late. Finally, it's sexy as hell and you can change the colors of the speaker grilles as much as your fluctuating mood desires.

Do I recommend it? Yes. I feel this is one of the best mini systems on the market for the price. However, if you're willing to spend a little extra, I'd recommend a Nakamichi soundspace (any model) because they're oh-so-beautiful.

Summary: Stylish, good sound, but could have been better...
Review: I have had the ns-33 for two weeks now. When playing some CDs, it lacks the high frequencies that I was really looking for and sometimes the bass is overpowers the highs. It's hard to tune the bass to a level that I want... the increments are too large between settings for bass and subwoofer.

The remote is a nightmare... Pioneer design engineers-->what happened? Also, the instruction manual describing the remote is also as bad as the remote because it has so many mistakes and misreferences.

Playing MP3s from my desktop sounds excellent. I have a sound blaster live and coupled with Winamp, I am able to control the sound much much better. But again, CD play could have been better.

Overall, I like it because it sounds great with my computer and hanging the speakers on the wall saves space, but if I ever get a mini-system again, it won't be Pioneer... ...

Cheers.

Summary: My Review, By Steven Payne
Review: I love the Pioneer NS-33 LifePlus Executive Microsystem with 30-Watt Subwoofer. In fact, buying it changed my life. I used to sit at home, in a silent house, not knowing what I could be doing to further entertain myself. Now, with the Pioneer NS-33 LifePlus Executive Microsystem with 30-Watt Subwoofer, I feel like I have purpose. The normally bland, grey landscape of my existence has been painted with a rainbow brush of vibrant color and happiness. In fact, people now come up to me on the street and say, "Hey, Steven! You look like a happy man! You look like the little leprachaun at the end of the rainbow! What happened?" And I tell them that I purchased the Pioneer NS-33 LifePlus Executive Microsystem with 30-Watt Subwoofer and they just nod wisely, understanding. I wish I had bought the Pioneer NS-33 LifePlus Executive Microsystem with 30-Watt Subwoofer months ago so that I could have been this happy way back when.

Summary: Not Bad ....
Review: I pleased with the unit. The sound does get distorted at high volumes, but if you keep at low to mid listening volumes the sound is fine. The CD unit is great - I love the hand activated CD door. The remote and menu systems are a little tough to use, but again for this price, this is a great simple CD player. I do use it as a wake up clock which is great feature.

Don't expect this unit to outperform the Nakamcki or the BO, but it does perform for this price.

Summary: An engineering gem...
Review: If you're looking for an ultra stylish micro-system that actually packs some punch - LOOK NO FURTHER! I thoroughly investigated many shelf systems, and for the most part, I was typically a bit disappointed in the relatively weak sound quality. I then stumbled upon the Pioneer NS-33, and was immediately drawn to its unique appearance (and subwoofer). After receiving it a few days later, I was able to finally check the sound quality - and was VERY pleasantly surprised. The NS-33 has excellent sound quality and is quite adjustable to the listener's preferences (bass/treble/subwoofer level). I've had it a few weeks and would HIGHLY recommend this system to anyone. It had many cool features and is quite the conversation piece. It truly outshines the competition in LOOKS and SOUND! Once again, leave it to Pioneer to produce an excellent piece of stereo equipment!

Summary: Overall a good system
Review: It's a great micro size system for the price. The sound is sharp and clear. I didn't care for tapes so this system was perfect for me. Saved alot of space in my room. I had an older JVC shelf system that I bought 5 years ago (...) The NS-33 sounds better. Only problem I have now is one of the speaker is cutting in and out.

Summary: Wires
Review: Like the product. Sound is good. I wanted a wall mounted stereo. Can you say wires? All kinds! Will have to cut some holes in the wall. When shown in ads, note no wires. When you buy and hook up, note many wires. Wife hates wires. But again, sound is good.
