Summary: Do Not buy it
Review: Although the price is very attractive, it is really worth what you are paying, or even less. Discs always get stucked and once you get tired of taking it to a Radio Shack store to get it fixed, it goes to the bin.

Summary: Great little system
Review: I bought the RCA compact system to be my system in the basement and at first I wondered if it would be powerful enough? But at 100 watts it is indeed powerful enough. I like how the CD magazine style is very easy to operate. The tape deck is very easy as well. The only draw back is that I worry I might lose the remote which is small, all well I hope that never happens. My advice go out and buy this system you won't regret it.

Summary: Great style, nice quality
Review: I picked this system up to replace an old boombox for my office and because of its size, this was perfect. The main unit fits just fine on my desk, even when the changer is open. I really like the design of the main unit and the chilled-out blue display and accent lighting really mellow things out.

Everything is smartly designed to keep up appearances, like the button panel that hides away with one touch and the 5 disc changer that opens and fans out to give easy access to discs. Even the headphone and auxilliary jacks are located on the front, but hidden by a small flipdown door at the bottom of the unit. In my opinion, RCA made a wise move in putting the tape deck on top of the unit, keeping the important stuff (the CD changer) immediately accessible.

While not necessarily a must-have these days, RCA still put some thought into how the tape deck works, because it's operated with the buttons on the front of the unit, doing away with the clumsy finger-mashers that come with most stereos. The one drawback is that there's no auto-reverse, but I suppose that's only a problem if you deal with cassettes on a regular basis.

Otherwise, you just load up the changer and go. The speakers that are included do a decent job but are a little lacking in the lower end. With 100 watts to play with, they can produce some serious sound if you spread them out a bit. The EQ presets are a nice touch that can increase the sound quality (even though a couple of them I'd never use), including the ability to have your own custom setting by playing with the bass and treble levels.

Overall, a great system in a nice, compact package with some really clean design. It does include a remote that's really compact and looks fairly easy to operate, but since I sit so close to the unit, I haven't had any use for it so far. Now the only thing that would make it perfect would be MP3 playback, but we can't always have it all, can we?

Summary: Bad news
Review: Recently purchased and it lasted all of two weeks before CDs got stuck. Terribly disappointed and when we returned it, even the customer service people concurred - they get these back all the time. Not a great product - even though the price is tempting.

Summary: Great Compact System
Review: This stereo fits great on my bookcase and I was short on space in my condo. The CD player holds 5 discs and works good. For a small machine it has great sound and 100 watts. I like the silver color with the blue lights also.
