Summary: The best FREE Phone-Entertainment-Internet-Business device!
Review: This phone can be used as a phone, digital camera, voice recorder, digital video recorder, full screen movie viewer, file storage solution, document viewer, travel info companion, foreign language translator, internet access, actual MP3 Music with voice instead of polyphonic ringtones. All of the above is expandable with the MMC cards (my 128MB MMC card holds several video clips, 2-hour movie, music files, my documents & presentations, photos and everything else). All features are easily accessible via menu button & j-stick. Also this phone is equipped with InfraRed and Bluetooth for wireless transfer of data between other devices. Nokia 3650 is based on Symbian Operating System, so there are plenty 3rd party software available for it - anything you could think of.This phone is not for writing memos! I own this phone for about a year, and I never type on it - there is no need. I hardly ever use the keypad. 99% of people complaining about this phone actually complain about Amazon rebates, bad signal reception by their providers or they don't like the looks of the phone. All of this has nothing to do with the Nokia 3650 phone and it's functionality they are getting for FREE. There are no other FREE phones that offer the same features!

Summary: Packed full of features
Review: Owned this phone for 3 months and just love it!...so packed full of features its hard to know where to start. It has a great built in camera (you can add a photo to each contact in your contact list) bluetooth enabled which makes for seamless and fast connections with other devices, and it runs on the symbian OS, which means you can download games, email apps, browsers, and a host of other stuff (my favorite download is the lie detector - which monitors the callers voice to determine if they are lying! sooo cool!) The email application works well, as does Text Messaging, and MMS services. The colour screen is bright and easy to see, and Nokia use a high screen resolution. Whats the downside?...well its design is very funky. Some love it, some hate it, but from a practical level the round keyboard takes some getting used to. However you soon realise its been well designed to use in one hand with your thumb operating it comfortably. It has a light flimsy feel to it (no doubt all that plastic) although I have dropped mine once onto tarmac and it was fine. The Symbian OS is stable but sometimes a little slow.

Review: I had great faith that Nokia will not disappoint and it did not. People have criticized the round dial the large size but I appreciate Nokia for innovating and trying out new designs

Yes the phone is not as small is the flip phones or the T616/T610(will refer to them as T616) but it has a good feel. The phone feels good to hold and use and talk, I used to own a A460 and did not like talking on it.. never felt comfortable with the grip..
If you are living in a place where it snows, you will appreciate the fact that you can feel the phone when you hold it and use it under horrible weather conditions. I used to carry a Palm IIIxe(used primarily for calendar, games and to maintain a To Do List) and a Samsung a460 but now I only need to carry one device which I got for free! The only phone which i would like to replace this phone is a Handspring Treo but which is of comparable size! Nokia has a lot of support:
Unlocking this phone is easier than most GSM phones as Nokia phones are well researched and you get all kinds of information on the web.

Nokia uses face plates on almost all phones = If you scratch your screen all you need to do is buy a face plate (Does not cost much) and you can replace the screen yourself (I am not referring to LCD screen only the front panel and battery cover). Screen:
The screen is very pleasing and you can use any image for the wall paper... you don't have to pay to buy wallpapers most images work fine! You can also click a pic and use it as a wall paper Camera:
This phone has a better camera than the T616 with better clarity and image quality. Also you can record videos. Though to record long videos you need extra space on the MMC card and additional software. This is a phone plus PDA which also has a camera for a very low cost. The camera is not meant to replace a real camera and is only to click pics for fun and send them across!! So do not expect more.. !!
Though it's only a matter of time before the quality of the camera improves that it will replace your real camera! PDA:
Most people who want a good calendar app, note a few things down and maintain a To Do list and do not want to maintain two phone list( one on their pda and one on their phone) will love this phone! Though one misses the touch screen on regular PDAs the T9 text input does a good job!

The quality of the recording from the mic is good if the person speaking is close to you even if you are seated on the last bench in the hall the quality is acceptable. The only thing I don't like is that the default recorder cannot record longer than a minute and you need to buy additional software to be able to do that! The same is true for being able to record long videos.

Ok this is something that much better on the T616 in comparison! The quality is not as great... and the volume cannot be really loud though contrary to other reviews its good enough! Profiles:
This phone has different profiles which control the various settings for ringers and alerts and you can configure them the way you like but for integrating your calendar with the selection of a profile you will need an additional software package (Some people claim that the newer firmware does not need it, I am not sure about this) Still this is a great feature and one of the reason for using a Java VM and Symbian is so that third party software providers can make software to suit your needs... Good enough, regular phone use without too much use to IrDA and Bluetooth, you will mostly charge your phone once in two days. Tzones:
If you have unlimited Tzones then you can go ahead and configure many (don't know the upper limit) IMAP and POP mail accounts and send and receiver mails with attachments easily! Also you can browse the web... haven't done a lot of that. SMS:
One of the main reasons for shifting to GSM and TMobile is so that I can SMS my friends all over the globe. Most cell phone providers in other countries using GSM will allow sending and receiving SMS from any GSM phone. It's a craze in other countries don't know why only TMobile allows you to SMS and other GSM service providers ( ATT and Cingular) don't allow international SMS.

Well don't know of the rest of US but works great where I live. Yes Verizon does seem to have a better network but if you will not be traveling much then it does not matter. The quality is clear even when the network seems weak and I have got GPRS coverage too in all places I have tried. MMC Card:
People have used 512 MB MMC cards with this phone and they seem to work great. What this means is that you can record really long low quality videos and complete seminars! Also encode movies and watch them... Also back up your phone data onto the card if you don't backup to a comp. I think this is an awesome feature to be able to upgrade your memory just like most PDAs. Though people claim that to be able to use 512 MB cards you will require Nokia to do a firmware upgrade on your phone. Overall, Nokia does a great job at making 3650 a good basic phone but also has tons of goodies to be able to replace a PDA and provide a fun camera! PS: to lock you keypad click on the right select button and then the * key. Hmm the lack of being able to lock your keypad once you beging a handsfree conversation is by far the only thing I hate.

Summary: Great features, poor engineering
Review: I have had this phone for 6 months and it's been a great phone, especially when you can get it for free from Amazon! After having used it for so long, I figured I'd write a review for all of you who are pondering over whether to get this phone or not. Here are the pros and cons: Pros:
- Great color display, large screen!
- Really easy to use interface
- T9 text messaging has never been easier...you can even send pictures to your friends through email
- Very lightweight for it's size
- Camera has a pretty good resolution in comparison to other camera phones, easy to use
- Gets good comments from people everywhere I go!
- You can save multiple numbers in your contact list instead of just a few numbers for each person
- Snake is taken to a whole new level...
- 16 mb memory card can be used to download pictures onto your computer!
- Fast battery recharging time, only 20 minutes and it's done
- Reception is pretty good, compared to the other Samsung phones I used to own Ok now for the cons...
- Sometimes, the phone will turn off for no reason. Lately it's been doing this quite a bit.
- The ringtones could be louder
- Slow to respond - I'll press a button and it will take awhile before the screen loads up
- Fragile: I dropped it on the floor and it broke apart
- You MUST put it on keyguard all the time because the buttons are too sensitive
- Speaker phone is not loud enough I have no complaints about the keypad, because I eventually got used to using it and Nokia is making another version of this phone except with a traditional horizontal keypad. I would recommend this phone to people who would use the camera feature (I do, it's VERY handy) and for those who are careful with their phones, since this one is rather fragile and can't take much abuse. Overall, a good nokia phone :)

Summary: Love it
Review: I purchased this cel phone a few months ago because several co-workers had it and loved it. It is a great little phone. I work for an airline and I have been able to take it with me to the UK and can keep contact with my family with no problems. The pictures turn out really well (not as good as a digital camera) but people are always impressed when I email a photo I have taken from the phone. I have had no problems with the body of the phone or with reception. It gets better reception than any phone I have had. Plus, it's free! I received my 2 $150 rebate checks in no time at all. Highly reccommended & I'm about to buy one for my mother for christmas.

Summary: TOO bulky
Review: The pictures clicked is are not great, poor color, poor enginnering of the phone(the back lid of the phone always keep shaking). And I hear echo while talking on the phone i dont know whether its because the service I have(T-Mobile) or because of the phone. I do not recomment others to buy this phone.

Summary: Cheap looking
Review: This phone has great functionality but unless you are a 12 year old and don't mind being embarrassed by taking this phone out of your pocket then buy it. The first thing I thought when I saw it was that my TV remote is smaller, which is true. The second thing I thought was how it looks nothing like the picture. I was expecting a nice, sturdy case but what I got was cheap looking, tacky plastic. Buy another Nokia instead, I sent mine back and exchanged it for the new Ericsson.

Summary: Only One complaint
Review: I really like the new phone. It took a lil getting used to , with the circular key pad. The service on T-Mobile is great, much better service than my old AT&T. (I'm in DC!) THe only thing is that often the ringer is too soft and u can't hear it ring when ur in another room, or in a noisy environment. Other than that. The gadgets are definitely cool and everyone oohs and ahhs over the cool new phone!

Summary: Don't get T-Mobile
Review: Do not use T-Mobile for any reason, ever. I'm a 33 year old male who has never experienced a more disorganized, immature, confused company in my life. I bought 2 phones, they activated 4 and during activation somehow managed to give me a phone number that was long distance for anyone to call (about 80 miles south of me in California). When I brought this to their attention they made my phone number further away in the other direction (250 miles north near Washington). I've spent 2 months arguing that I've never had 4 phones. During my last conversation they wanted $400 in disconnection fees for the 2 lines that they disconnected (and I never had)!!! The phone itself has a lot of cool features, but it somehow magically disconnects from customer service if you ask for a T-Mobile respresentative's badge number. The T-Mobile customer service is the absolute worst and just so you know there is no coverage at all in South Dakota - even though everyone else's cell phone works on roam. I strongly recommend finding an alternative provider before looking at any additional phones.

Review: Well, I ordered this phone in August and promised myself I wouldn't write a review until I got all of my rebates in! And now, over three months later, I can write a review of my lovely free phone. This was my first cell phone and I'm very happy with it. However, in addition to the long rebate wait, my first phone did die on me with the blinking Nokia logo and all of that. But Amazon express shipped a new phone right away, no questions asked. I've been fine since then. There's not much to be said that others haven't covered. If you're a Mac user, this phone works very well with iSync, and iCal (I no longer carry a planner, it's all on the phone) and there are programs available that can make the phone act as a remote for your Mac (very nice for playing iTunes). The camera is fine, there are some amusing games available (including a Gameboy emulator), and you can read ebooks on it. This is one of my favorite pastimes--the program I use allows you to view the text lengthwise on the screen and it's surprisingly easy on the eyes. The screen on this computer is very, very nice. Quite sharp. I use a third-party PDF viewer to display bus schedules from the mbta on the phone, which is extremely convenient. I use AvantGo for news, etc. It's not that big at all--this was my one big concern before ordering from Amazon, so I went and checked one out at the local cellphone store (Salesman: "Those are nice phones; they cost $300, though." Me: <looking dumb> "Wow, that's so expensive!") and was pleasantly surprised by how small it is. Okay, so it's not one of those miniscule flip-things, but the screen is much better. The 610 does look nice, and was not available for free when I ordered the 3650--I can understand people wanting one of those instead so you might want to compare and see which suits you best. But, for what it's worth, I like my 3650 very much.
