Summary: disappointed that the MPx200 is outdated!
Review: This is a pretty good phone but I am really disappointed that in March/04 the next version, with bluetooth and camera will be available. Apparently, only on T-Mobile and not AT&T.

I really want the upgraded Smartphone OS and it won't be available on the MPx200 - only the MPx220. So, after paying $150 for this phone I'll need to pony up if I want the upgraded OS or Bluetooth. I'm feeling ripped off.

Wait for the MPx220...

Summary: GREAT PHONE
Review: I bought this phone online and abosolutely love it. For an all
in one device it has everthing you need, the calander was helpfull and the mp3 player my wife uses it more than I do. You
have to get the sd card 256 holds alot of songs. I wish they had
more accessories. Plus amazon had a great rebate and I picked up the phone and new service which far beats nextel. I recommend
this phone highly.

Summary: Mini Computer!
Review: The most amazing phone I have ever seen. There is always something to work on this phone. Loads and Loads of software for this phone available in the internet for free! If you are a computer junk, This IS the phone for you. And you also get a 32MB free memory card from microsoft if you buy this phone. Much better than NEC phones where there is no slot for memoey upgrade. And most of all, it can be converted to tri-band for free! I have had this phone for a month and I love it! Sad, the FREE deal is no more....but its still worth every penny.

Summary: Great Phone - Terrible Coverage
Review: The phone is just marvelous and, just to make it clear, my 4 stars only applies to the phone itself. I travel a lot and I would usually carry my cell phone, PDA, and MP3 player. Now all I need is the MPX200. I added a 256 MB SD card and now I have more than 4 hours of MP3 music on my phone. I could even play short video clips of my family.

The AT&T coverage in SoCal, however, sucks. Last weekend, I was in South Coast Plaza, probably the biggest and busiest mall in Orange County, and I could not get a signal anywhere. I kept walking around trying to find a 'hotspot' and there was none. All the while, you see other people walking around the mall talking on their cellphones. The only time I could get a signal was when I went to the open-air parking lot!

It's no wonder that all the other major cell providers have stores in South Coast Plaza but AT&T is nowhere to be found. They won't be able to sell anything in that mall!

Summary: STAY AWAY FROM AT&T THEY ARE THE WORST EVER !!!!!
Review: I ordered the phone from amazon.com. it's the usual delay for a couple of days. Amazon "predication" date is not accurate. Otherwise no problem.

OK LETS GET STARTED WITH @$% AT&T.

The two bills in one month!($29.00 Plan)
-First Bill $61.98 (total min used 7)
-Second Bill $59.93 (total min used 5)
* I didn't use it much (you'll see why)

- I called up to have the service canceled 3 weeks into using the AT&T. The rep said it would be cancelled, but it was not canceled.
THE HOLD TIME ON THE PHONE WAS
-First time: 1 HOUR 3 MIN
-second: time 45 MIN
-Third: could not contact "due to circumstances beyond our control, you call can not be answered at this time. Please try again later". (for 10 times I tried, through out the day)
-Fourth time: Got a rep. 1 HOUR who I did not understand a word he was saying. I think he had the mumps and couldn't talk clearly. (I had to make it quick)
-Fifth 36 MIN had to call about the KB usage.

- The service is very good when you are outside on a vacuum place with no trees or clouds. Everywhere else you can not get good service. On time the service was interrupted when I was standing under a hotdog stand in Manhattan (Don't even try to take the phone out on the subway, unless you need to check the time)

- THEY CHARGED ME $43 FOR KB USAGE. Oh wait I though the first month was free on Mmode as a rep told me. I guess it was my fault that I checked ebay once, the logo must have been 500kb(0.06 a KB) lots of math involved. (They told be when I called for the obscene charges, that they where valid and I had to pay them. Mmode is not free. First month)

- Everything else is bad. The games, the KB charges, poor internet compatibility, bad customer service, a whole lot more. If you don't believe then you should have some cash ready to test this so called wireless service which I refuse to believe it should ever exist.

Bottom line. Get some other service in your area. Maybe T-mobile. As for me I never ever will mention AT&T unless im saying something bad.

Summary: great phone, poor service area
Review: I love this phone. I wanted a phone that would allow me to sync my outlook with my phone so that I wouldn't have to carry around a PDA as well as a phone. I have had no problems with slow reponse time as far as using the phone, address book, calendar, and task list goes. My caller ID works just fine when the phone is closed or flipped open. The data feature (getting sports scores, movies times, etc.) can be slow at times, but I rarely use this feature.

My main problem is the service area. Becasue the GSM/GPRS system is fairly new, the covereage area is fairly small (using AT&T). Of course, when I first got a digital phone several years ago, I had the same problem until the wireless companies caught up with their own technology and built a sufficient number of towers. So, I am hoping that happens very soon.

Coverage area not withstanding, this phone has met my needs. Now I just need them to make a version with pocket Word and Excel!

Summary: Phone is cool, but AT&T sucks
Review: Worst coverage, worst customer support ever. The customer support lines are always under extreme load, it always takes me more than 15minutes to talk to somebody. Once it took me about 45 minutes. Also AT&T will not allow you to dialup to the internet forcing you to use their data services which are very expensive.

Summary: Not Ready for Prime Time...
Review: I bought this phone expecting that the hype was true, silly me. I feel like a Verizon Technician, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???? I sat in a parking lot to do a conference call and had to dial back in 12 times over a 45 minute period, dropped with full signal for no reason...

Cool features, but the service (AT&T) bites badly... Also, I think the extra charge for data transfer is a bit over the top.

Summary: #1 in 2003
Review: Guys:
Do NOT listen complans about this one.
It is beatiful, but you will need to subscribe to "Ultra" AT&T
data plan for $19.99 and that is still going to last 1 week to filled up to their max-8mb. So, rest of month you going to pay $.06 per 1kb.

Summary: Poor service prevented me from trying out the phone
Review: On paper, this phone certainly seems of value to those who use Outlook extensively for email, contacts, schedule, etc.

But, AT&T's "Next Generation" GSM network is simply not ready for prime time. And their customer service is truly abysmal.

I switched from a multiband GSM/TDMA plan to AT&T's Next Generation GSM-only plan to use this phone.

If you can afford to miss calls, get your voicemail indicator an hour after your caller leaves a voicemail, and repeatedly ask a caller to "say that again", go with AT&T's "Next Generation" network.

The best analogy I can offer for AT&T's network is that of a release 1.0 technology product. It works only sometimes and only if you are really really patient.

I don't know what planet AT&T is on when they claim the most wireless coverage in North America and the "wireless network America trusts".
