Summary: Not what is described
Review: I purchased this for my motorola v180 gsm phone to create my own ringtones and wallpapers but it does not even list my phone in the list of available devices! Needs some serious review by seller and manufacturer!. Not recommended.

Summary: very frustrating to set up
Review: The hardware configuration is
dell laptop / docking station / targus 1.1 usb hub / v710 cell phone

The software configuration is
win2k service pack 4 / Mobile Phone Tools 3.19e1 (Live Update from 3.0)

CD installs OK.
Live Update technique goes well.
(There are some issues around failure to report disk drive running out of space, though, when installing or upgrading.)

(1) I did once move contacts from the phone to outlook, and move calendar entries from outlook to the phone. The idea is great. However, before and after that, I had a lot of failures with respect to windows recognizing the device as a v710 cell phone when attaching to the usb hub. I've removed and re-installed the software many times.

If you pursue this, the best likelihood of working is to never attach the phone until the software prompts you to, even after the initial install.

(2) I didn't see any menu items to transfer sound, image, or video to/from the phone. You should be able to do that without incuring phone company messaging charges.

Net: a PDA + cheaper phone/software combination may still be better, even though it means two devices instead of one.

I later found out that it works a lot better if there is no usb hub in the middle.
The software does have some awkward synchronization with Outlook when a recurring calendar entry has had an instance edited.
