Review: My wife and I rely on two way radios to contact each other prior to our ride home from work everyday. These units are suppose to have a five mile range. They don't have a three block range. The other audiovox walkies (which stopped working after almost three years) had double the range (and were rated @ two miles). Also the power on/off button is also a channel scanner. With the leather carring case on, the power off button if not pressed hard enough starts to scan the channels instead of turning off the unit. Very annoying. The manufacture didn't do their homework in designing these. I thought new generation walkies would continue to improve, not get worse. I'm taking these back to the store. Anyone knowing a better unit out there with a charging base, please recommend it.
