Description:

Combining the power of General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) with the convenience of Family Radio Service (FRS), the Midland G-15 two-way radio offers powerful, easy communication with family and friends.

The Midland G-15 UHF/FM two-way radio features a total of 15 GMRS/FRS channels with up to a five-mile line-of-site range with GMRS channels. The clear, backlit LCD display offers easy reading in low-light conditions. The G-15 radio also features a removable, flexible antenna, key lock to prevent accidental channel changes, and vibrating call alert.

The hands-free VOX feature has six levels of sensitivity, enabling you to set how loud you need to talk to activate the VOX circuit. By activating the VOX you only have to talk into the front of the radio or use an optional headset to make the radio transmit.

The Midland G-15 incorporates 38 CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System) codes and 83 DCS (Digital Coded Squelch) codes that, when activated, prevent you from hearing other radios that aren't communicating on the same subcode. These codes do not make your conversation private. If you are using the G-15 where interference from other radios or electrical devices are present, enabling the CTCSS or DCS codes will usually mute the interference.

The G-15 is powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery and comes with a drop-in desktop charger.

Important note to customers: All two-way radios that use GMRS frequencies require an FCC license.
