Summary: Great idea - bad product
Review: I just bought this phone for my office. The quality of the recorded outgoing message is so poor that you can barely understand it. I bought this phone because it had the built in answering machine but I have switched over to my phone company's voice mail because this phone's answering machine is just unusable.

Static is bad with the cordless phone. The receiver on the corded phone is so strangely designed that I can barely hold it up to my ear & mouth at the same time.

I do not recommend buying this phone.

Summary: great in theory, but...
Review: I have this phone, in fact, I liked the idea and look of it so much, I hoped the problems I was having were just specific to the phone I bought - meaning hopefully it was a lemon. Unfortunately, I bought another one and replaced it and still have a problem with it. Periodically the phone cuts in and out so it sounds like you are on a cell and going through a bad cell site...This is on the corded phone, not the extension. Everything else with the phone is fine, you have all the features you could want, but this little problem is enough of a nuisance to really bring down the rating. If you buy it, I hope you don't have the same problem. For me, I lived with it for about a month, then it started getting worse. That's when I returned the first phone and got the replacement...it's started with this one, but I can't find a corded phone w/an extension for anywhere near the same price, and the only other one I've found is another AT&T. Hope this is helpful.

Summary: I've never been happier
Review: I have been working with electronic equipment for over twenty years, and I find this telephone easy to use, program, and the reception is excellent. I can be working outside 20 plus feet away from the base and the reception is clear.

Summary: happy...again
Review: I had previously purchased 2 individual cordless phones. I bought the 2nd because I like the 1st. I additionally bought this item and I am satisfied with my purchase. Everything seems to work fine. The corded phone is awesome and has way more features than I will ever use. The only problem I ever had was with the 1st phone I purchased. It has however been dropped numerous times and is about 4 years old. It got to where you could read the caller id and the reception had gotten bad.

Summary: Nice Idea bad product
Review: I bought this product thinking I would still have phone service during winter power outages. The corded phone works great. However the cordless phone didn't work. I took it back and got a replacement. The cordless phone worked for a while, but after a couple months, stopped recharging. AT&T customer service is impossible to get in touch with, and I've given up.

Summary: Cordless Phone Fails the Test
Review: The idea of matching corded and cordless phones was appealing. The corded phone was excellant. The cordless phone was worthless. The cordless phone had constant static. After following the trouble shooting instructions, visiting the AT&T website and calling customer service I decided to return the phone based on AT&T's recommendation. AT&T's customer service person was hard to get to via the voice mail web. Once in contact with the service employee things went quickly. Amazon's return procedure was painless and prompt.

Summary: not as good as it should be
Review: A little disapointing in all. I like the features and I did not need two cordless phones. There is a lot of background noise on the cordless handset, but I have already gotten used to it after one week. The corded phone sounds good, and the speaker phone is acceptable, but I have had complaints that it sounds hollow on the other end. It works well enough though. I love the directory, but you have to put all the numbers in to the handset and the base phone seprately. I can understand why, but it does not suit my needs as I live alone and am the only person using both phones. It would be nice if they could communicate. I haven't read the manual all the way through, but I don't think you can even check the messages from the cordless.
The phone looks great. A lot of the cordless phones out there are trying to look like cell phones or some sort of George Jetson appliance. This phone is very understated and looks attractive on my end table. Its also nice not to have two wires coming out, as the handset only needs a power cord.
I would expect a lot more from ATnT. They don't even make this phone. It is made by another no-name company and marketed under their name. I would think that they would take a little more interest in the use of their name.
This phone is nice for the price, but you should consider the above before you buy it.
Thanks for reading

Summary: Correction: "Good features and price, but poor sound quality
Review: On my previously submitted review, please correct "corded" to "cordless" in the 2nd to last paragraph.

The unit appears to be made well and offers good features. The price is excellent for a corded/cordless phone with an answering machine. However, the sound quality is lacking.

There is noticeable background noise on the corded handset when the volume is above level two (out of four). Moving the phone to another jack where another corded phone was previously plugged in (without background noise) did not help. I bought this phone because I did not want the background noise of a cordless phone on my main phone. The noise is not awful, just annoying and surprising for a corded phone.

The cordless phone sounds fuzzy both at the phone and to the person on the other end as well. Switching channels did not help. The phone was much clearer when within 5 feet of the base set, but obviously, that defeats the purpose of having a "cordless" phone.

Although there are few alternatives in this type of phone available, I would pass on this one and keep looking.

Summary: Generally pleased with this phone
Review: This phone had the features I wanted: caller ID, answering system with multiple mailboxes, speakerphone and the combination base/corded phone. I am mostly satisfied, but I think there is some room for improvement: The cordless handset is significantly smaller than the one I had previously. Another annoyance is that the buttons on both phones are rather small. Also, the CIDs are not as vibrant and easy to read as they appear in the pictures. The sound quality is adequate.
