Summary: Best headphones for protable CD player use
Review: If you want a pair of headphones that deliver studio quality sound and you don't want to carry around gigantic headphones when listening to your portable cd-player then these are the headphones for you. Their quality is supurb and they are the same size as normal headphones. An excellent buy.

Summary: Solid headphones.
Review: Since I purchased these headphones I've been nothing but thoroughly pleased with them. The sound is strong and crisp, and the cord volume control is key. I use these at work, and the four-foot cord is ample length to reach from the computer to me. The headphones fit snugly on the ears -- such that I can adjust them on my head and they'll still stay affixed. Highly recommended.

Review: The Koss KTX-Pro Portable headphones do have a very rich sound. Unfortunately, when I used them for listening to classical music, they sometimes produced high-pitched distortion that made listening impossible. So, my suggestion is if you plan on listening to a lot of classical music, find some better headphones, but if you mainly want to listen to rock/pop music, these might be a good choice. I noticed a lot of clarity that just wasn't there in the headphones that came with my Philips-Magnavox CD Player. Still, those basic headphones were able to play my classical collection just fine. I don't understand it.

Summary: The best of their class, by far.
Review: The Koss KTX-Pro, which is the same exact pair of headphones which goes under the name Pro-35 at RadioShack, are better than anything else on the market in their price range, in terms of sound quality. The only thing I've ever griped about, was that after extended use at high volume levels, my ears DID start to hurt just a little, and required a break. I think it somehow had to do with the shape and density of the metal adjustable outer band. Perhaps it was just a bit gripping, but still worth enduring, none the less. But that problem has now been solved. I simply bended them into shape, until they started to fit more comfortably. It's kind of like a new deck of playing cards - at first, they're a little TOO crisp and new, until after you've spent enough time "breaking them in," so they'll feel smoother when you shuffle. Or, if you know anything about string instruments, such as the guitar or violin, then you know the same thing also applies to every fresh new pair of strings.And with the warranty I purchased with these headphones, I can break them and go right down the street to RadioShack, and replace them with a fresh new pair, as often as I want for free, until nearly 2006! And I love the fact that while my portable MD is snuggly in my inside coat pocket, with my coat zipped up, I can still run the cord down the front outside of the coat, then up into my pocket (thanks to the cord being long enough for this procedure), thus giving me easy access to the in-line volume slider. Even the volume slider itself is noteworthy, in the way the max volume level is at the bottom, while volume-down is at the top position of the slider. At first, one might think this is upside-down, but somehow it just feels convenient and natural after a while.

Summary: THE SPORTAPROS ARE STILL THE BETTER BUY.
Review: The Ktx/Pro doesn't have the slightly excessive bass of the SportaPro, or the slightly recessed midrange, either. However, the bass on the Ktx/Pro is overly tight and lacks bloom. The midrange seems to lack resolution, and the treble has a little bit of the "razorblade and needle syndrome" -- it's kind of sharp sounding. The SportaPro isn't perfect, but paying [slightly] more for them is a much better choice, in my opinion.

Summary: Good quality, and the price is right.
Review: The price and sound quality are definitely better than reasonable. The only fault these have, as I was warned in other reviews, is that they are a little tight, and thus uncomfortable for long periods of wearing. However, I was able to quickly rectify that problem by stretching them out a little. Since then, they have been an epitome of comfort and happiness for my ears. Highly recommended if you don't mind having to stretch them out a bit.

Summary: Good while it lasts
Review: The sound quality is nothing short of astounding -- the headphones deliver very impressive bass and clean sound overall. Aside from the higher-end Sonys, you will be hard-pressed to find a better pair of sub-$50 (and maybe even sub-$100) headphones. Its only weakness is that it is perhaps a little too strong on the low end -- if you really like bass, this may be a good thing, but it's not so great if you prefer hearing music the way it was recorded. The inline volume control is also very handy. However these headphones have a major Achilles Heel: durability. Only a few months after buying them, I could begin hearing distortion in the right earphone when playing low bass, which suggested that something had come loose. Shortly after, this turned into a rattling, and then a complete loss of sound out of the right. This is not the first Koss product I've had problems with, but the others were cheapie $3 throwaway headphones so I was willing to give them another chance. It wasn't much of a surprise, either, since the headphones look and feel a little too cheaply made. Shame, as I was impressed by how well they worked at such a low price. I suppose there's no such thing as a free lunch after all.

Review: The title of this review says it all. I still can't believe the massively great sound that this little baby puts out. I was originally looking for a nice set of headphones for my MP3 player, but now, they've become my standard set for my home theatre. My friend had recommended these to me about a week before I bought them, and man was he right about one thing; GREAT BASS! These phones really show me how far technology has come these days. It really DOES sound like 2 little 1" subs next to your ears. Not only is the bass amazing, but every little treb and mid is easily recognizable with amazing clarity. I plan to use these as long they'll still function, and then I'll just buy another pair. Great job Koss!
