Rating: Summary: Lots of features for the low price Review: For such a low price (less than 1/2 of similarly equipped phones), I've been very happy with my purchase. I use a headset (purchased separately) with if often - no problems thus far. The display is easy to read (scrolling through missed calls is handy as is the auto dial feature that redials the missed call) and I like seeing the red light when the phone rings...makes it easier to find! I've had no reception problems that weren't solved by simply changing the channel. All in all, I'm quite pleased with it and just bought it again (as a gift).
Rating: Summary: won't last Review: This phone was decent for about 10-12 months, then it started having all sorts of problems and now I'm looking for a new phone. It gets 2 stars b/c I really did like the features. Good display, decent looking. A bit bulky, but well placed buttons. They just need to work on the quality, I can't afford to buy a new phone every year.
Rating: Summary: Great phone for the price Review: This has been (after one month) a great phone ... It's clear, has good range, and the memory and caller id are easy to use. My only gripe is that there's no way to tell if your line is active by looking at the phone. This is important to me since I have to use a dial-up internet connection. Other than that, I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Not for the vison impaired Review: My husband bought this phone (GE27930) a couple weeks ago to replace our very expensive Sprint cordless that just died one day. I was very excited when I first opened it and my teenage daughter thought it was SO cool the way it lights up when it rings. It is a very good looking phone. However...the "backlit" display is irritating to read. The light comes from the left side primarily and it makes it hard to read unless you have a light behind you. Also the display seems very small and hard to read. The worst thing about the phone is that sometimes the phone will ring yet the display will show nothing. I'm not sure why it does this but it is very irritating. When you are used to a Mercedes it is hard to go back to driving a Pinto I guess. For the price the phone is not bad. Just be ready to squint.
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: I love this phone! I chose it for my birthday gift after having fallen in love with my boyfriend's one- since i live in a dorm it's important that it have a good range and this one is great..it goes all the way to the other side of the building despite the countless walls inbetween and even went outside and down three floors catching a signal from my window! it's easy to find under the bed or behind books due to the pager set on the base-great if you can never remember where you put it- I definitely would recommend this phone even for clumsy people because ive dropped it sooooo many times (the base too!) and it is still like new. Oh and btw it also works in Europe because i took it to my mother so she would be able to talk with a headset- a great bargain!!!
Rating: Summary: Returned It The Next Day Review: There are certain household items in which cutting costs can be painfully apparent, and a telephone is one of them ..... Yes, this GE cordless phone comes at what looks like a bargin price, but is it really worth it ??? .... Absolutely not ... The first thing I noticed was the way the small AC plug hummed when plugged into the wall: LOUD ... Then, after allowing the recommended 12 hours for battery charging, I called my sister to try the new GE out ... ouch .... The first thing she said was "Where are you, in a submarine ??" ... It was quite obvious to her that I had some new phone, and unfortunately, obvious to me also ... Her voice was shrill and thin, and the grating "underwater while in a small submarine" tone was ANYTHING but enjoyable to listen to ... I enjoy speaking with friends and family, but sound of this phone defeated the purpose ... Also, the Caller ID is extremely inconveinent: there is NO light to let you know that there have been new calls, and scrolling thru the numbers to see if anyone called is cumbersome and awkward ... I don't really enjoy coming here with a unfavorable review, however, this phone should be avoided ... I returned mine after the one lone call with my sister ....
Rating: Summary: Great phone Review: Two days ago I got GE 27931 2.4Ghz. It works great... I didn't have any problems. It has everything I need.
Rating: Summary: It got 1 star because there were no zero stars Review: I bought this phone two weeks ago, and gave it to my daughter this evening to go in a yard sale. GE couldn't give me another at gunpoint. The reception is not even close to a 900 mhz Sony that we have.
Rating: Summary: All around great phone Review: I have had several cordless phones, everything from AT&T to VTech and this is by far my favorite. I'm not going to state all the features, cause you can read that above. But I really like this phone. I also think that the person who gave it a bad review, just got a bad one or treats things he buys poorly. Bottom line, it's a great phone.
Rating: Summary: Not Worth It Review: I bought this phone to replace one that I had and ended up returning it after one call. The reception was worse than my 900mhz phone and it sounded like I was talking and listening from inside a cave. For such a good brand name, I was very dissapointed with the quality of this phone and would not recommend it to anyone.
