Summary: Audiophile's phone?
Review: After our old 900Mhz phone died, we went through a number of phones, both 900Mhz and 2.4Ghz, with all sounding just terrible. With so many bad sounding phones, I was looking for one that an audiophile would love -- other features are much less important. After reading the reviews of this model we gave it a go, and it hasn't disappointed.

I'm not an audiophile, but the sound quality was really my number one concern. I just hate a lot of interference and the tinny sound that many (most) cordless phones have. This one sounds as good as a good corded phone. It is absolutely clear and clean. Even the speaker phone on the handsets has great sound.

Others mention the handset is too big and hefty, but I like it. It feels like it is a quality piece, not cheap and plasticy. I think this is a subjective item -- you may want to get your hands on one to judge for yourself.

The system has a great feature set that works nicely for our family, with the 3 mailboxes and so forth. It's great to have the two handsets, with options for more. I think this will be a phone system that can grow with us and be useful for many years.

Summary: Buggy; answering machine fails often
Review: After the warranty period expired I noticed that the device starts "losing" memory -- where you may have started with 15 minutes available for messages it would go down to four minutes, 3 minutes, and now, my machine thinks it is full all the time. I erase all the mailboxes, clear the greeting, all to no avail. I called Panasonic and they give you a reset procedure that simply does not work (hold down mute, hold, and transfer buttons while plugging in then press #3). It has been a horrible experience.

Summary: Lots of good features BUT
Review: As most of the reviews on this phone system have said, lots of nice features, no dispute there.
BUT the LCD keeps going blank on both phones, no LCD no features.
Problem started within two months of purchase, was able to get the LCD back a few times but now one handset LCD is just gone.
Low volume unless you are using speakerphone feature, which is very good.
Range is very poor, cant get more than 75 feet from base and that is pushing it. In the begining could only get 25 feet but a reset of both base and handsets got it out to the 75 with booster.
Have to get handsets back for repair before warrenty runs out.
Not happy.

Summary: great features, not good sound quality
Review: Being a big fan of panasonic phones I got this to replace my aging 2.4ghz panasonic coldless. The features are great, handset speaker phone, extra handset, ability to check messages from handsets, but for some reason, I'm getting bad sound quality, kind of a crackeling sound when i turn on the phone, my wife says that all calls sound like you're on a bad cell phone call because it breaks up. Well back it goes to amazon, I think I will try the 2.4ghz with 2 handsets. It should be known that I do use Vonage voIP, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but old panasonic 2.4 ghz worked fine on it.

Summary: LCD dies
Review: Enjoyed the phone, but the display on the handset is gone after 3 months, and I cannot correct it.. panasonic is no help, so I don't reccommend this phone.

Summary: IT"S DA BOMB! TOTALLY THE BEST
Review: FEATURES, FEATURES, FEATURES. You should give this a try. I have waited for a great phone and it's now here. I got a great price. Going to buy another handset. I Like using belt clip (which is very secure on phone)and speaker phone on the handset when I'm on hold. I just clip it to my shirt and continue my life. You can adjust volume on handset, on base, for ringer and volume for Monitoring answering machine. Which I forgot to turn on.
LOL

Love the NOT TO SHORT phone. I can put it on my shoulder again. Love the light up display. Love the easy menu's. Really love the one touch dial of last 5 calls. Love the Add to phone book.

SPEAKER PHONE IS CLEAR! But callers can still tell its a speaker phone. Haven't needed to use Booster yet. Manual is big help and clear. It's a very attractive phone. I've seen some reviews here that knock the volume. No real problem here. Use it by my computer all the time. No interference.

I wish it could set ring tones for specific callers. That would be very convienient. Especially if it could be set to ring differently for Out of Area or Anonymous calls. Darn telesellers.

I also wish it would learn to fix dinner. Still waiting for that feature too.

Summary: Great Phone
Review: First of I got this at http://www.jjielectronics.com/product.asp?0=242&1=243&3=161 for $229.00. This is a great phone. No static while sitting in front of my computer, excellent range and sound quality. The speaker phone is so good that people wont even know they are on speaker phone and speaker phone on the handset is perfect! My only gripe is that I wish the handset volume would go up one more notch, although the speaker phone volume goes quite high. Highly recommend!!!

Summary: Eats Batteries Like No Tomorrow
Review: Generally I like Panasonic products and if I'd have rated this product when I first bought it, I'd have given it 5 stars. Six months of living with it has dimmed my like for it a lot. I've had to replace every battery in it (I've got the original 2 handsets and 2 more) once and the second set of batteries are weakening. I get a maximum 1.5 hours talk time now. Batteries are very expensive and not carried by my local retailers (Fry's, Circuit City, etc.) except for batteries plus ($18 each). Anyway after about 3 months batteries really start getting weak and deep discharging with long recharges does nothing, within about 4 months, you're down to 5-6 minutes of talk time. I don't have this problem with my other NIcad powered electronics, including my 2.4 Ghz Panasonic phone, so I can only conclude that Panasonic under engineered the power requirements for this phone. Avoid this turkey.

Summary: good but minor faults
Review: Have been using the phone since beginning June 2003, the overall quality of the product is good.

The display on the handsets is gone after a month, now I cannot figure how to correct it.. panasonic is no help in getting this corrected as of now.. waiting to be sent for servicing.. it is a hassle to dial or use the handset any display on the handset...

Deleting the messages using the handset is a mystery..

Summary: The best I have found, bar none!
Review: I admit I was worried about spending over $200 for a phone/answering machine, but the phone works great.
(A) Range is outstanding (well over 100 yards)
(B) Clear as a bell
(C) Easy to set-up.
I do wish I could eavesdrop on a call from a remote as it was being recorded, but that is my only complaint after 3 months of use.
While the volume at the headset is not loud, turning on the speaker-phone function removes any problem with poor hearing.
Overall. I could not be more pleased with this purchase, and have highly recommended this phone to friends and family.
