Summary: Good features, BAD reception!!!
Review: Hello, I am 13 years old, and bought this phone for my room. I LOVE THE RINGTONES! But, I tried to download ringtones from the internet, and it is confusing, difficult, and when it finally works, it comes out extremely fast. This doesn't really bother me because I like the 007 ringer. The Caller ID works great. The reason I would not recommend this phone, is because of the static. When I go into my kitchen, which is about 80 feet from the base, I start to hear a clicking noise, then if I go even a little bit further, it starts to get horrible. The reception should be much better. I had a 900mhz phone that worked better than this 2.4 Ghz!! So, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE AT ALL!!!!!!

Summary: Extremely Dissatisfied
Review: I just had to have this phone because I like the different ring tones on it, but when I finally bought the phone and brought it home and started using it after charging it. It has ALOT of static in it, it has also cut me off of my conversations with my kids teacher and I was very upset. I'am currently looking for another phone after only having this one for less than six months. My advise to people looking to buy a phone is "DO NOT BUY THIS ONE OR THE ONE WITH THE ANSWERING SYSTEM!"

Summary: THIS IS THE BEST PHONE FOR A TEENAGER
Review: I'm a teenager and I first saw this phone around August of 2003 and I wanted it so bad. Well, my parents got it for me for Christmas and I absolutely love it!!!! Despite all of the bad reviews that I read, it is a really great phone. I don't get any static or interference and the ring-tones are awesome you can delete the ones you don't like and you can add more. I have a Nokia cell phone with Composer on it to make my own ring-tones and to put some on it. Well, the Composer on this phone is the same. I have put The Simpsons Theme, Outkast's song Hey Ya and I am gonna be putting more on. You can assign ring-tones for when people call you know who they are just by the ring. It is a really cool phone! And the face-plates and base-plates are awesome. The phone lights up when someone calls. It is just a really good phone for a teenager. If you are a teenager and you are wanting to get a phone for your room, this is the best one to get! You can personalize ring-tones anytime you want, you can change the colors and assign rings like on a cell phone! And if you are a parent and your teenager is wanting a phone I think that this is the best phone to get them. I know of 3 people that got this phone for Christmas and they absolutely love it! I urge you if you want a phone to buy this one! It's GREAT!!!!

Summary: Great Phone Choice
Review: This is a great phone for the price range. After purchasing it and reading through the manual I was surprised it didn't cost much more. (Not that I'm complaining!)
The changeable faceplates are a neat idea, obviously taken from cell phones. If you'll look at the picture, you'll notice the phone and base are black and orange. They come with changeable plates for both base and phone in red, yellow, and blue, so you've got four colors to choose from. Or you can mix and match.
The best feature of this phone is the ring tones selection. There are six songs you can choose from: James Bond theme, Rocky theme, "All the Small Things" by Blink 182, "What A Girl Wants" by Christina Aguilera "We Will Rock You" by Queen, and "Lady Marmelade". You can also choose from 4 different ring tones, or from 5 pre-composed melodies in the phone. You can also choose to turn the ringer off, in which case orange light bands will travel through the phone to indicate an incoming call. (The light also works when the ringer is on.)
More than that, you can compose your own song on the phone by pushing the buttons, like Happy Birthday, and you can choose from 8 instruments to play it in.
You can also program the phone to play a certain song when a certain person calls. Plus, there are two cute animations to choose from that can play when these people call.
One other animation is a little charging bull that runs across the screen when the phone is set in the charger.
The screen and buttons have orange backlight, and the screen is very clear and easy to read. You can control the volume of the various ring tones, and the phone charges up rather quickly. It has great sound quality, with adjustable voice volume, and is quite sturdy.
Overall, I'd say this phone is of the highest quality you can find in its price range, and certainly the most fun.

Summary: NO CONNECT! NO CONNECT!
Review: I purchased one of these phones from Best Buy and was excited to see that it had cool electronic ring tones and changable faceplates. All my roommates and I really loved this phone--too bad it didn't work!

After charging it for hours, I plugged it in and got the NO CONNECT message many others are complaining about in the reviews here. I wish I had read them beforehand. I returned my non-working phone and got another one, exactly the same, and after several hours of charging, NO CONNECT.

I called VTech, and after a lengthy wait on hold and a long procedure that didn't help the matter at all (the support told me nothing that wasn't already listed in the manual troubleshooting) they eventually told me to return the phone and get a new one.

Upon doing this, the third phone I received also had the NO CONNECT problem. Three strikes and they're out, I said, and returned it the final time. I will never buy another VTech product, and I hope that others stay far away from this non-working phone. Please don't waste your time.

Summary: stay away!!
Review: Bought and charged it overnite excited about its features then when its time to use it, its got horrible sound after few minutes. I used it for about 5 minutes then went to work. When I came back at night I used it again for about 10 mins and the phone cut me off! The battery is dead! I can't believe it. One day standby time, hissing sound after about 5 minute talking is enough for me to go back to Target. Bye bye Vtech that is my first and last phone from you.

Summary: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
Review: I love the idea behind this phone, stylish, cool ringtones, graphics, and of course the face plates. A friend of mine had it and loved it, so, even after reading bad reviews for it, decided to buy it. Mistake. It worked great for the first week, then it started acting strangely. First, I noticed that not all the calls were detected on the caller id. It seemed like the calls detected were the ones that were answered. The next thing was awful static in the middle of phone calls, not every call though. The only way to get beyond the static was to hang up and call them back on a different phone. Then it just started cutting out in the middle of calls. After that I returned it and ended up buying refurbished Unidens (My previous phone was electrocuted by lightning and they don't make the model anymore). Two refurbished phones for the price of this, and NO problems at all....

Summary: Initially fun, but awful problems in just one week
Review: Just like another reviewer here, my phone would be great for a few minutes and then start producing nothing but awful static. Couldn't change channels, couldn't turn off. Had to set it back in the base. Followed the instructions very carefully when initially charging the battery before using, batteries were fully charged. No rhyme or reason, it just started doing it less than a week after I got it. Luckily I had the receipt and was able to return it. The price was great, and the features were fun, but Vtech is off of my list for a while.

Summary: ZERO Stars!
Review: I went though FOUR of these phones....none worked. Like other comments posted, static & no connect message. It is very hard to understand how VTech could allow so many crummy phones to make it to market. Hear this Vtech...I will never buy a VTech product again! Purchased simular GE phone that works fine.
