Summary: Stock up on extra replacement batteries!
Review: A friend of mine bought this phone and raved about it. So, I purchased the same one. I had to return the phone within two days of purchase because I thought the phone had a defect. The low battery - recharge alert beeped almost every time I was on the phone for more than one hour, even if the phone had just been sitting on the charger for ten+ hours. So, I brought the phone back and got another {same model and such - remember, I thought it was a product defect}. Needless to say, I ran into the same problem with the new replacement phone. The battery life on the KX-TG2593B is way BELOW expectations. The other problem has to do with the delete function on the answering system. If you hit the delete button accidently while listening to a message, the message is GONE. There is no way to retrieve it again.

Summary: Battery sucks
Review: Great reception, feels good, looks good.... but the battery life [stinks]... I've owned this phone for 2 years now and have had to replace the battery three times already... [after paying for each new] battery, it gets annoying...

If you leave this phone off the charger for more than an hour you'll have to buy a new battery since the one in it will be shot and won't take a charge. If you talk for more than an hour it will start to beep to warn you that the battery is low... when you go to charge it, it probably won't take the charge. This has happened to me 3 times. Shouldn't the phone beep to tell you that it is time to recharge the battery and not beep to tell you to throw the battery away and go buy a new one?! If the battery didn't [stink], this phone would get 5 stars easy since the reception rocks and the look is good... but... the battery [stinks]. What more can I say?...

Summary: Ultradurable too!
Review: I agree with the rest of the reviews! A great phone! I use this in my restaurant where it gets dropped and beat up. I went through 2 phones until I found this one. I can handle the heat and grease of a kitchen. My only complaint is the speed dialer is too complicated and could be simplified if you could enter a number code to choose the telephone number you want to call. Aside from that, a great phone!

Summary: Not Phone, this is a headache
Review: I bought this ... phone hoping for good quality and relying on panasonic name. Oh yes, the phone works fine. Just that the battery won't last even 20 minutes. I changed three batteries. First week, it works fine and the battery charge lasts for an hour or so. Later somehow the phone kills the battery(and yes, I followed all the instructions for better use of the rechargeable battery). Then after two weeks this "smart" phone used to put ten minutes restriction on all my calles! Wow, putting a bad battery is good way to save money on your phone bill!
I was told that higher the mAh, longer the charge lasts. After searching a lot, I found 1300 mAh battery from panasonic which is suppose to last longer. The battery no. P-P510 was recommended by panasonic with highest mAh for [the price]. Guess what, the battery wouldn't fit in the handset! Still obstinate to get a minimum value back from my phone, I had to cut the battery cover and somehow fit in the compartment...
Well, to make long story short, I am using a ... phone from [my local drug store].

Summary: Piece of junk
Review: I don't get why other reviewers rate this phone 5, 4 or even 2 stars... This phone and its "brothers" (silver & white color) are just good looking and with some kind of good reception, BUT, the BATTERY is useless, it doesn't work for more than 20 minutes of conversation, or if you leave it out the charger, it will loose its charge in 3-4 hours max. You tell me, a phone is useful if its battery is dead? Noooooo.. Unless you like to talk and hear over the speaker phone..

I hate to be the only one who rates this product like this, but, what can I say, it is USELESS.

Summary: I'd buy it again!
Review: I had a similar Panasonic single line phone in the 900Mhz range before this and it was fantastic. This one in the 2.4 gigahertz range has not disappointed me except on two points - the single line phone had the ability to dial on the base pad and hear what you're dialing on the handset (I think they called it "duplex dialing"). The two line phone does not have that ability but it's just a minor inconvenience.

The other thing that I don't like about this phone is that if you answer a call from any other phone in the house, there is a light on this phone that will blink until you either review all the caller IDs or delete them. I normally associate a blinking light on the phone with having messages, so seeing this light blink constantly even when I have no messages is a bit annoying. There is a second, separate light that blinks when you have a message.

This phone has more features than I could ever use or need though, and I've never had a problem with interference from other phones (wireless, cell or otherwise) or from computer equipment (and we have a lot of it in our house on all frequencies).

Some of my friends complain they can't hear me as well when I use my headset with this phone, but I think that has to do with the headset, not the phone.

Overall I am very happy with this phone and would buy Panasonic again in a heartbeat. I've recommended this phone to several friends and family. In fact, if I had the money I would buy their new 5.8 gig phone with the extensions that don't need to be plugged into a wall jack. Still a bit pricey for me though. :) In the meantime, I'm very happy with this phone.

Summary: I love this phone!
Review: I have gone through a lot of cordless phones in my house. They start to get less and less battery life until I replace the battery (which doesn't really fix the problem). This phone, which I purchased for work use, works wonderfully!!! I have even dropped it a couple of times and it still keeps on ticking. The best feature is the belt clip and headset jack for hands-free phone use. I can just clip this sucker on my belt and wander around my house to talk. The only down side is that it only has about 3 hours of battery life if you use it constantly. And you can not use the headset while it is charging, so that leaves you with the only option being to use the speaker phone. But for the durability it shows, I've been very happy with the phone.

Summary: Good Sound - Questionable Security - Poor Service
Review: I own two of the "Gigarange" Panasonic telephones. The have excellent range and sound quality. However, when I was tasked with determining the security of these telephones for use in a medical environment, I was confused by the claims of Spread Spectrum security on the box with the mention of "autoscan" elsewhere. This appeared to be a conflict to me. If you are "autoscanning" for a clear channel then you are not "frequency hopping," right? Multiple e-mails, letters and calls to Panasonic did not answer the question. All I got was a boilerplate answer, "Don't mention sensitive information on a cordless telephone." Thanks. I sold them at a flea market and bought Uniden and Seimens DSS products.

Summary: BEWARE...PHONE INTERFERES WITH WIRELESS NETWORK
Review: I purchased two of these at the same time and they work perfectly EXCEPT they know out my wireless (WiFi)computer network every time they are used. This is extremely annoying and has resulted in my need to retire these expensive phones. I tried switching the frequency, but that did not work..the wireless was still knocked out when the phone was used. So, wireless network users beware!
