Review: The product sounds just fine. I had the same opinion as many of the 1-star reviews, the sound was rather bad...then I figured out how to fit the plugs into the ears properly, then everything sounded fantastic. I do have to adjust the plug once in a while, but overall, the small caps provide a good fit. The only thing I wish for was a cap made from a more "sticky" substance, like ear plug foam (like the ones that comes with shure's). I'll probably fashon one by modifying a foam earplug and gluing it onto a pair of unused caps.

Review: I purchased the in-ear headphones thinking that the bass would be better. Its not. Actually after using them for a day I returned them. The in-ear headphones that came with the iPod actually has better sound quality.

Summary: Great Sound!
Review: I love these in-ear headphones! The key is "in-ear". For all of you who think they are tinny sounding, you need to find the right sized ear piece (included), and put the headphones IN your ear. I have Harmon Kardon Soundsticks II for my G4 iBook and these earphones are just as good a sound. Hey, the Harmons only cost 180 bucks. But the earphones only cost 39 bucks. What do you want? Great bass, great separation of tracks, clear vocals... on the list goes. If these aren't good enough for you then you are looking in the wrong price range. Not that these don't measure up to more expensive earphones, cause they do. Buy them!

Summary: I finally got it right
Review: I confess it took me a while to get the hang of these little guys, that's why I'm giving them 4 stars only. Having tried my friends original headphones and realizing they were very unconfortable and actually hurt my ears after wearing them for a while, I decided to buy the in-ear Apple headphones when I first got my ipod. At first I tried the medium and the small ear caps since I don't have particularly big ears, but as it has been mentioned before I only managed to get them stay into place when I wasn't moving, excercising or chewing! To my surprise when I tried the large size caps they stayed in my ears even when jogging! What a delight! I'm no sound electronics expert or anything, just a regular music lover, and I must say that with these headphones I have discovered sounds in my favourite songs that I didn't even know were there! A little tricky at first but in the end, a satisfying purchase.

Summary: I can't figure out why there are so many 1 star reviews.
Review: I really like these ear phones a lot. I bought them after I was unhappy with a (less expensive) pair of Sony in-ear phones. The Apple in-ear phones sound great, are very loud, and fit comfortably. The only reason I didn't rate this with 5 stars is because it is a little difficult to change the size of the ear phones (although this is also good because they don't come apart when you don't want them to...). I would definitly reccomend these to anyone who is looking for a replacement pair of ear phones.

Summary: Don't be "put off" by the negative hype
Review: These little beauties are Wonderful! There... I've said it!!!!

I found the original iPod headphones uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. They were just too big for my ears. They actually hurt after about 20 mins wear.

I was quickly drawn to the "in ear" variety because, to be honest, they looked cool..however so that my heart didn't rule my head entirely, I spent a couple of weeks looking at every review I could find (mostly negative..... they fall out, no bass, tinny, etc etc) which really coloured my view to the point where INDECISION RULED!!!!

I decided that the only way forward was to try them for myself -

The reality????

Beautifully presented in true MAC tradition. Very, very comfortable from the outset, (the rubber is soft, flexible and produces a nice cushioned seal which also blocks out extraneous noise well ) and to my amazement all three sizes fitted in my ears, without falling out. I found however after a little experimentation that the smallest ones gave me the snuggest fit.

The audio at first was a little disappointing - a bit shrill, not much bass??? PANIC.....that's when I started experimenting with the iPod graphic equaliser presets and voila !!!! ( I particularly liked JAZZ and PIANO although the settings didn't relate much to the kind of music I generally listen to)) FIXED..... I could have as much treble or bass as a body could stand ( I suppose after all ..thats what an equaliser does!!) and I can wear them for hours in comfort.

Conclusion - Put them in your ears properly and don't forget to experiment with your iPods equaliser presets. They make an enormous difference.

I think you'll like them a whole lot!

Summary: I like them
Review: I like them- they fit well into my ears, don't fall out, and the sound is much better than the original earbuds. As gross as it may sound, I think Apple should have test models available for use in their stores. At least this would allow people to see if they fit properly.
All in all, try them if you can before you buy them. If they fit, I'm pretty sure you'll like them.

Summary: Absolutely Mandatory!
Review: I honestly cannot believe all the negative reviews for these in-ear headphones. If you have an iPod (or iPod mini) that you plan on using while going around town - or especially if you want to use your iPod mini while you exercise - these in-ear headphones are essential. The sound quality is incomparably better AND they're so much more comfortable than the pair that comes with the iPod mini. Honestly, the only problem with the in-ear headphones is the cost... I wasn't terribly happy about having to shell out all that money, but (like I said before) if you want to use your iPod (or iPod mini) while you're on the go - they are well worth the cash.

Summary: Don't listen to the nay sayers
Review: Ordered these despite the negative reviews, basically on instinct and price (they're Apple, and a fraction of the price of Shures). They are wonderful. Great bass, detailed midrange and smooth highs that sing and sizzle. Fit perfectly and comfortably out of the box...upside down, right side up...doesn't matter. (perhaps a bit better seal against outside noise upside down) One of these pad sets should work for you. And, no, you don't have to jam them into your ears. They just slide in comfortably, and, at least for me, they stay put.
By the way: if you are still listening to MP3 on your iPod, you are loosing half the glory of the music. Which is maybe why you don't like the earbuds. Even they sound quite good with AAC. AAC provides cleaner, deeper bass and much more detail in the upper registers. In-ear phones really soar with AAC.

Summary: great buy
Review: These headphones are fantastic. When I first put them on they sounded terrible and tinny, but once I got them comfortably embedded in the ear canal I was blown away by the deep bass and overall range that I was hearing. If you can't get them all the way in then the reverb will completely destroy the sound's quality, but if the earpieces fit then the phones sound just as good as any ear-covering phones that I've ever used. Once in they were snug, secure, and very comfortable, and I don't think that they'll be coming out for a while.
