Rating: Summary: Don't buy it Review: 1. Ready to pop off your head if you moves. 2.Very uncomfortable. After 5 mins you want to take it off. 3. Noice reduction does not work. When turns on, the white noise if louder then the noise you want to cancel.
Rating: Summary: There is nothing good about these headphones. Review: Aiwa is usually a good brand but for some reason this pair of headphones is really terrible. 1.I tried to listen to music on the train with these and the noise cancelation didn't do anything to quiet the surroundings. 2.It is probably the most uncomfortable pair of headphones I have owned. 3.My hair kept on getting caught in folding joint at the top. 4.The amplifier that it comes with makes the music sound terrible. 5.There is a battery case that sticks into the side of your head. 6.They look ugly. Trust me. 7.They keep sliding off.
Rating:  Summary: Good for blocking plane noise, but a bit tight. Review: Excellent noise-cancelling, where the noise is mostly bass and all-pervading (e.g. inside a plane in flight, or near to rumbling air-conditioning). It's not so good at supressing high frequencies (inevitably, 'cos of the laws of physics), so the job I wanted it to do - blocking out other people's voices when I'm trying to concentrate in the office - is beyond it's abilities, sadly. It makes the voices quieter, but it makes the rumbing air-conditioning and other background stuff quieter still, so the voices actually become more obvious, especially if the person talking is within 6 feet of you. Also, I find the rigid plastic head band tries to squeeze my head while I'm wearing the thing, but maybe that's just 'cos I have a big head! =:o} The weight and bulk of the battery on one side of the headband makes them a bit lop-sided. I'd prefer to see the electronics built into the cable, rather than weighing down the headpiece istelf. They're certainly the most affordable noise-cancelling headphones I've found anywhere, and do a great job or reproducing whatever music you're playing through them, and thus they're good value if, like me, you're not quite sure it's worth shelling out a fortune on an experimental idea: At least if the noise-cancellation doesn't do the trick for you, you'll still have a decent pair of headphones for occasional use! =:o}
Rating: Summary: very good Review: I am a classical musician. I am very picky when it comes to sound. These are good ear phones. My only complaint is it doesn't handle really low tones and they are not loud enough.
Rating: Summary: Refurbished -- but still defective Review: I bought a refurbished pair for $ from an Amazon partner, "...". They came in some generic packaging with photocopied instructions and a 30 day non-manufacturer warrantee. Evidently there's now a mini-industry of businesses that handle returns and refurbishes them. At home they seemed to work. With noise reduction on they had a soft background hiss, and if I moved around in some noise settings they produced an annoying buzz. On an airplane, however, the right earphone produced an earsplitting whine. The headphones are defective, the noise canceling mechanism is malfunctioning. I have a nasty suspicion that the headphones were rather minimally "refurbished", and that this defect was the reason they were returned in the first place. It wouldn't show up in simple testing without an airplane volume noise source nearby. Don't buy these refurbished headphones unless you have money to waste. ...
Rating: Summary: Refurbished -- but still defective Review: I bought a refurbished pair for $17 from an Amazon partner, "wegotbetterdeals". They came in some generic packaging with photocopied instructions and a 30 day non-manufacturer warrantee. With noise reduction on they had a soft background hiss, and if I moved around in some noise settings they produced an annoying buzz. It wouldn't show up in simple testing without an airplane volume noise source nearby. I will see what the refurbisher does, but I don't have time to hassle with this. In future I'll avoid buying refurbished goods from no-name resellers. Don't buy these refurbished headphones unless you have money to waste.
Rating: Summary: DO NOT BUY THESE! Review: I bought these Aiwa headphones because my standard Aiwa headphones, with the padded leather earcups and the comfortable headstrap had broken. Since I'm constantly listening to music through my headphones, I figured that I could use an upgrade, and these noise-canceling headphones seemed like a great buy. However, I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the product I got. Unlike the cushy leather earcups I was expecting, I got foam- FOAM, like what you get when you buy headphones ...at Radio Shack. You can imagine what the comfort is like- your ear is basically pushed up against the plastic of the headphone.. it's NOT good. What you can't tell from the picture is that these headphones are not round- they're square. That means that if you have a small head, like I do, these will not fit you. There are no adjustable straps, so the tip of the square headphones just barely rests on my head, while the two corners stick out. I had people with bigger heads try them on (just in case it was me, and not the headphones), and they all agreed that the headphones are really ill-fiting. Furthermore, in order to make the headphones noise cancelling, they require a battery, which fits nicely into one side of the headphones. HOWEVER, because of the weight of the battery, my head constantly tips towards the weight of the headphone. The sound IS good from the headphones, and that is important, but is it worth it to sacrifice all comfort for quality? I think not. I honestly could not be more disappointed with my purchase. Please do not buy there- buy a pair that you will like.
Rating: Summary: Got what I paid for. Review: I bought these and thought it would be great, however when I got them I found out otherwise. I have used these for about a week now, and also let others try them. They work great as normal headphones but the noise canceling effect has left me feeling kick afterwords, 4 others have tried my pair and felt the same.
