Summary: Great Sound, Decent Range, Ergnomics questionable.
Review: The sound produced by these speakers are great, and compared with similar priced headphoens it equals or beats the competition. One of the biggest perks of this headset is the auto-tuning function which keeps the headsets tuned in so you don't have to keep tuning and retuning the headsets. I primarly use them for watching TV at night so as to not disturb the rest of the household. If this is what you'll be using them for, then they are suburb. If you plan on walking around the house, expect some intermitent inclarity static. They are quite bulky, and wearing them too far back on your head will eventually hurt your scalpe and ears, but when worn right they are extremely comfortable. As for battery life, the rechargeably battery makes it much more conveniant as you never have to find and replace batteries. The batteries last well over 8 hours of usage at a time, so don't expect these headsets to die on you. Overall I can recommend this product to anyone looking for a a headset in the sub $... range. The MDR-RF945RK can also be found for under $... elsewhere.

Summary: Impossible to adjust headband
Review: There is no way to adjust the headband, allowing the headset to slide down and off your head. If you move around at all you have to hold the headset in place. Sound quality (because of background hiss) is mediocre.

Summary: Poor for dynamic range of sound
Review: These are great for the average listener who isn't going to move too far away from the television or stereo while using them.

However, I have a major problem with them: I listen to classical music ALOT and the volume constantly adjusts itself so if I get to some loud part in the music, like a cymbal crash or burst of horns, the volume clamps down making what should be a climax in the music I'm listening to sound not much louder than a whisper.

That's HORRIBLE and there is nothing that can be done about it. I don't understand.

DO NOT by these if you listen to alot of loud/soft music. This is also a problem when watching DVDs.

Summary: Overpriced and noisy
Review: Too noisy to watch DVDs or listening to music, lot of static, mostly if you don't stand still like a statue. Very disappointing from Sony. Buy Koss, Sennheiser or Bose. Oh and the connection between the base and the headphones is crap.
