Summary: Sticky keys, fading color etc.
Review: 1. Sticky keys, really bad problem:
This is a known issue you would find on any forums. There is a new BIOS upgrade 1.08 on their support site, which should remove this problem. But, who wants to mess up with BIOS? :) (I am goning this week.)

2. Fading color on the palm rest area:
After only a week of usage, I noticed two dark/black spots on the palm rest area. No it is not because of my dirty hands - it is fading color!!!! I have never had this problem with other laptops as well as I do not think I have agressive swet. I guess, this is just low quality painting.

3. TV-out, black&White problem:
I did download latest vidio driver and tried all possible PAL settings to get my TV work. No way, still B&W. I have no idea what is going on. With my previous Toshiba - no problem at all
with the same TV.

4. Included software is trial versions only.

5. Power management:
Power management is working somehow tricky - some times it hibernates as it thinks there is not enough battery power. However after resuming OS, it works well another hour.
Or - worse - it does think there is enough, so it jut turn off
instantly so you lose your work.

btw. writing this review, I have experienced sticky keys once. Annnnnooooinnng.

Would not buy again, but it was cheap deal and I do need Tablet
capabilities at my work.

Summary: BUYER BEWARE
Review: Am starting to think I made a mistake buying the travelmate 300. In turn, and since I purchased the machine 6 weeks ago, I have had problems with sticky keys, a cursor that dashes around the screen and, as of last week, a screen that has gone black. Reading through the Acer newsgroups, it appears that many other people have had these and other serious problems. Customer support is friendly but seems unwilling to recognize the very large number of Acer Travelmate users facing similar problems to my own. It is taking ages to get my machine's screen fixed.

Summary: Don't Buy Acer
Review: I bought a laptop from Acer, repeatedly had problems with the DVD drive. They told me to mail it back to them for repair. Then, they mailed it back to me untouched. Then, when I called them on it, they told me to mail it back again and be without it for yet another week. This is ridiculous. I'm filing charges in small claims court for the cost of the laptop.

Their BBB record is not good either.
