Summary: I will own macs for life!
Review: As a previous ibm owner, i got so tired of the thing crashing on me i decided to go with a Mac. It was the best thing I have ever done! I had read a lot of reviews online and with them being mixed had second thoughts about buying an ibook. But when it arrived, I took it out of the box and had it up and running in no time. Going from windows to the apple system wasn't that bad, and my computer has never once crashed on me. I have owned it for a year now and couldn't be happier! I still have a lot to learn about the ins and outs of the system, and need to figure out my new printer, but not having to go through all of the crap that windows puts you through was well worth the extra learning! The great thing is that documents I save can be switched to load onto an IBM. I am getting an airport card soon, and look forward to wireless connectivity. All of the programs are easy to navigate, and the display is amazing. I am very, very happy with my ibook, and one other thing is that it looks great!

Summary: redesigning my house to go with my ibook
Review: Firstly for those of you who aren't sure if you should get the 12inch or 14inch ibook. I was a 14inch ibook fan, only reason i got the 12inch was because the 14inch was out of stock. i am sooo glad now that i actually got the 12inch. i was worried the screen might be small but its perfect, its all perfect. the ibook feels strong and can handle bumps here and there. i am a graphic designer and actually looked at the powerbook first. but for the price of the powerbook i could get an ibook AND emac. just make sure you add as much RAM as you can.

i orderd the ibook without actually seeing one in real life ever. once you get it, no matter how many pictures you had seen, you will be shocked at the beauty.

in conclusion, definetly get the ibook, its really really worth it!

Summary: Rotten Apples
Review: Howdy,After months of research I eagerly placed an order for this ibook. The Mac OS was a joy to use, and with maxed ram, I found the ibook to be snappy enough. However, I received a unit with pixel problems. Returned it, ordered another one. Even more pixel problems. Returned it, decided to try my luck with a 14" ibook. No dead pixels, yahoo! But the logic board and power management unit failed after only two days.Returned it, and have since decided that the ibook, while a nice design with a super OS, is simply too unreliable for my hard earned dollar. More reading on the net has showed that logic board failure is not uncommon for ibooks, even relatively new ones. The only positive in this experience has been Amazon.com. They have been absolutely great about the returns, providing a 100% credit each time.In all, I'm very disappointed in Apple's quality control for the ibook.Your Mileage May Vary!

Summary: What a great investment!
Review: I am so very glad that I switched to Mac. I was frustrated up to my neck with Windows, and I am very pleased with the Mac OS--incredibly stable. I am a student, and really need the portability factor. This definitely gives you that! It is so light. I have all I need here: internet, word processing, and cd/dvd combo. I did buy some extra memory, which is a good idea; you can work very well with just the 128 MB, but to be able to open a dozen programs at once, it's always a good idea to have that extra memory--particulary with memory costs as low as they are now. And Amazon.com DEFINITELY had the best price--I did plenty of comparative shopping. Great investment!

Summary: Great Product from Apple!!!
Review: I bought my ibook around xmas and i was very impressed! The graphics are increible!!! This a fast computer especially when I added 512 mb of ram. If you arent computer literate (which seems like the people who didnt write a good review for the product) then apples arent for you. If you are not very good at computers and have trouble on them then go with a PC. I am very satisfied with it and I actually started on a PC and made the SWITCH. I will never go back to a PC. Apples are absolutely awesome computers with sweet applications. Itunes, ilife '04, and safari are great. It seems like they made this computer just for me and if you bought this, youd feel the same way!

Summary: Even a year later, it's still alive and kickin'...
Review: I bought this baby over a year and a half ago and it still runs perfectly well! I'm a graphic design student and the poor thing has gotten scratched, scraped and dented...not to mention the dozens of black charcoal smudges that cover its white surface from all my drawing classes. True, I do wish I could magically transform the outer surface to its original pure white finish BUT it amazes me that such a little machine could withstand such torture! I run the entire Adobe Creative Suite on it (Photoshop, Illustrator, Go Live, Acrobat...), have tons of data and music files, and still manage to have Dreamworks and Flash. However, I have run into problems with the speed and managing to run a number of programs at the same time. Possibly because I never shelled out the extra $100 to get the 512 RAM (duh.) which I will definitely do now! This is definitely an issue during finals week... Anyway, the only qualm I have are the speakers do happen to suck. Over the year or so I've owned it, the quality has gotten so irritatingly bad that I only use headphones on it and even then, the right speaker is kinda busted. Regardless, if you get an Airport card and the extra RAM, this G3 works perfectly! And you can throw it in your backback and not have to worry about it.

Summary: Huzzah for Apple and Steave Jobs!
Review: i bought this computer when it first came out (may 2003) along with an iPod and a few other stuff. This beautiful machine has served me very faithfully, better than my 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 machine. I read the other reviews and i salute the mac supporters, but the others have to learn that they are computers, and they sometimes dont run very well. but macs have a RISC processor setup, like the AMD machines (switch i have also switched to) and OS X runs on the UNIX system, which is the most stable system in the world. I have used macs from the first OS that came out, i was impressed with each one, i have also used windows from DOS, which bill gates stole from IBM, DOS was originnaly designed for Apple, i know DOS like the back of my hand, and i hate it, its worthless compared to UNIX, Linux, Solaris, and OS X! If you buy any mac computer, you will agree with me, they kick @$$ either if its a dual 2.0GHz G5, or this litte iBook, you will be amazed!

Also, for those hackers out there... Macs are a wonderful hacker computer, i am a hacker, and when ever i attack something, my computer shows as a Windows NT 4 machine! Ha! Also, there is a wonderful hacking program for the mac, its called Cyanide. D/L it, its free and rocks. Oh yeh and for the other people interested in macs, macs are very hard to hack, and there are very few macintosh viruses out there, and most of them are corrected with Norton!

wOOT mACs!!!!
