Summary: my job lets me see all laptops around, your in TheRightPlace
Review: A CAVEAT: WinDVD4 works great on the smaller Satellites, but for some reason works horrible on the big one (19" screen), I brought it back to BestB, thinking there was something wrong with the graphics card, but ashrewd tech (rare)told me that some DVD programs work better than others- and loaded "POWER-DVD" which works awesome. You won't be sorry.

It's big of course, and you probably won't be taking it on too many trips, though I still do because it's ma lil-Big-Screen. And don't forget, it's so beautifully wide. And so PERFECT for widescreen DVD's.

Me Happy-(...)

Summary: Too much memory!
Review: Alot of you people are probably wondering why you paid so much, but can't operate those 'high end games'. The problem is you have too much memory in your 'laptop','1024MB RAM Memory' is way too much. You need to 'set' and 'fix' your memory at '512MB RAM Memory',having too little (256MB RAM Memory) will cause your 'laptop' to crash, having too much (1024MB RAM Memory or higher)will cause your 'laptop' to crash as well. Best thing is to 'unload' that '1 Gig',and go for '512MB RAM Memory',you'll notice a big difference in performance, bigger does't mean better!

Summary: Nice Desktop Replacement - Terrible Support
Review: Don't buy the P25 if you want mobile computing. The battery life is short and the screen will be too dim to work comfortably unless you use the High Power setting which REALLY eats up the battery.

There is no way to operate the P25 in a car or plane. Power inverters DO NOT WORK with the P25 (I have tried 4) and the 19 volt input requirement rules out cigarette lighter
adapters.

Tech support is in Turkey. Very pleasant people but it takes a long time to get a problem resolved. They don't seem to know this product very well. You will need them however because the on-board documentation (pdf) is awful. Example - I still haven't found the instructions for burning a CD.

I expected much more from Toshiba!

Summary: Innovative and Quality Product
Review: First let me say that I have owned this purchase that came through Amazon.com for about 3 months. It came almost immediately.

Now about the product. It comes with Media Center XP, which is about the most stable product I have ever seen come from MSoft. The computer seems to be built specifically for this operating system.

Upon setting up, I have been able to plug it directly into my entertainment center, I am using it like a TIVO, watching on demand movies through the Internet, and all this while playing online multiplayer video games.

So far, no problems.

One other nice feature is that it is somewhat compact, comes with a nearly fullsized keyboard, and has a built-in wireless card.

While I could find far more portable laptops with ease, this is more like a compact PC in the size of a 9lb laptop.

I tend to use it stationary, but have been known to pick it up and take it with me on the road.

Hope this helps.

Summary: Beautiful - a true lifestyle PC to make Mac users envious
Review: First off, people on here who criticise this for low battery life are just silly. This is a desktop replacement, not meant for use in a car or on an airplane. If you saw it that would be obvious. I use it in the house, and only move it from room to room. Now to what matters, how do I feel about this after a month of usage. It rocks! I am a power user, very discerning. This is the most beautiful, fun to use PC i have ever owned. And I've even owned an Apple PowerBook G4 in the past. This is much more capable given the larger PC universe and range of software out there. It's fast, it's beautiful and it's making all my friends envious. Everything works perfectly, and the screen is truly beautiful! My only complainst is that at this price, bluetooth should come as standard. I use the networking 802.11g at home and it was simple to use and picks up the signal no trouble. I've used it for games, and inless you are at the bleeding edge of gaming you will find the nVidea graphics card amazing, can deal with all the current games out there, no matter now 3D intensive they are. Note: Call of Duty doesn't support widescreen, so it only occupies the left hand portion of the screen. Movies look great on here and software has lots of room to work with.

If you want a PC that is fast and sexy to boot, without all the usual wires, go get this beauty!

Summary: I was expecting this model

Summary: BUYER BEWARE!
Review: I bought my P25-S609 brand new from Circuit City on 1/24/04. I bought the $300 mega-warranty through Toshiba upon registeration. I have never hated a computer or a company like this before. 45 days after shelling out over $3000 for everything listed above, my HD starts clicking and sputtering. Long story short, total hard drive failure and data loss. After a week of waiting, my repaired laptop came back to me. I spent over $200 on software suites to create back-ups and restore disks to try and avoid ever losing everything like that again. Big help they turned out to be. Here we are, less than 5 months after buying it and already having the HD replaced.....the HD has failed AGAIN. The situation is such that I cant even get my back up disks to restore data. Toshiba wants to just replace the HD again. FORGET IT! I have a warranty that covers replacement should I physically break the unit, yet when I I politely request that my lemon of a notebook please be replaced, I am told no. I am fed up. I lost everything, AGAIN!!! Toshiba could care less. Looks like my notebook is headed for a head on collision with my Range Rover....OOOPS! And Toshiba America is being handled through my state's Attorney General's Office.....better luck to those of you out there with this computer!
