Summary: a good choice
Review: I had a hard time choosing between a portable MD recorder and an MP3 player. I finally decided I wanted the convenience of simply downloading music to the player rather than recording it, a basic feature for all MP3 players, but only the most expensive MD recorders can boast of it yet.

I chose the Yepp for its good looks and decent price. I'm not disappointed. The convenience of being able to carry a player around in your pocket or clipped on your belt without worrying about skipping is really something.

The controls are well laid out and easy to locate and use by touch. The display layout is not very intelligent and there seem to be no options for changing it. The "3D" feature doesn't hold a candle to Environmental Audio on the SoundBlaster Live card, but on a music player this is just sort of a silly extra feature anyway.

I've been playing mine all afternoon and the battery meter has yet to budge from "full", so I wouldn't be too concerned about battery life.

Overall, the Yepp is a very convenient and cool little gadget. My old Discman is going to be gathering a lot of dust...

Summary: Samsung Yepp - An excellent buy
Review: I just bought the samsung yepp mp3 player. I read some reviews that said it was a bit difficult to set up but samsung must have reworked the manual. This was my first mp3 player and I had it set up and running in no time. I'm sure it's easy enough my mother could set it up. It's not a fancy product but it's simple and plain looking which I think is great. Volume level is fine. Sound quality is really top notch. Size wise you can easily fit the Yepp in a shirt pocket and the belt clip it comes with is a nice feature as well. You won't go wrong choosing this fine product by Samsung. The toughest decision you'll have is whether or not to buy the 32meg or 64meg model.

Summary: Great buy
Review: I just got mine today and it is great. A lot of people say the headphones are terrible but they are just fine, the sound is great to I can't even tell the difference between it and a CD. The manual is not bad as long as don't have to change to ECP mode. The only problem I had was forgetting to turn it on when downloading songs

Summary: Best Mp3 player out there
Review: I just purchased the samsung Yepp off of Amazon.com and it is just awesome. I have a lot of fun with it. The download is pretty fast. The sound quality is exactly like a cd if you download a song that sounds right. Whatever the quality of sound of the song when it is downloaded on the computer, is the same transferred to the player. The earphones are just fine and dont need to be replaced. The only bad thing is that the directions arent well written. It could be more precise, but the Yepp is definently the best!

Summary: Excellent Option, Don't pay attention to others
Review: I purchase the Yepp 32 MB and let me tell you that it is the best combination between price and features.

What is the point in purchasing a $300 MP3 player if you can buy a CD Player that reads MP3 for almost the same price?

I have read compliants about The Headphones, the port ( parallel) and The display, and let me tell you that the only one that is true is the one referred to the headphones. They reproduce almost no bass frecuencies, so if you love bass loud in your recordings you will flush the yepp earbuds down the toilet. About the speed is not USB connection, but you can full the 32MB in less than a minute, so what is the point? And the display have nothing wrong. If you purchase the yepp you will save a lot of money and you will be very satisfied.

Summary: Not great, but pretty good
Review: I received this from Amazon and it just wasn't a product that was ready to use. I am fairly technical and I couldn't get this thing working on either Win98 or Win2k. Basically, I connected it to my parallel port(s) and it would download and display 1 or 2 files, then when a 3rd or 4th was downloaded it would nuke the second and not accept any more downloads - displaying only the first, no matter how many you try to download. I found I could only reliably download 1 file before the thing went crazy. I am returning it to Amazon.

After this one sucked, I bought a Rio 500 and it is a MUCH better product - it works reliably and sounds good, but you have to be smarter than the software they give you or forget it. I had to tell it to look only for a Rio PMP 500 or it would get confused by my scanner while looking for a PMP 300.

Summary: FREAKIN' AWESOME!
Review: I've been using cd players for a while, but since i'm fairly athletic, i was constantly annoyed by skipping! (even though my discman was an esp2) I was also frusterated cuz I had to carry around like 10 cd's wherever I went just to get my favorite songs. I considered buying a cd recorder, but those usually run steep, and you have to wait like an hour to burn one cd. So, while browsing on amazon, I found the Yepp. It's the coolest, lightest, best-sounding player I've ever used! Songs are free, and if you encode your cd's at 56kbps, you can fit up to 80 minutes of music on it. People say it'll sound cruddy, but really, it doesn't. The voice recording feature is also really cool, as is the phone directory. The +'s: lightweight, super small, NEVER skips, sounds great, lots of features, easy to use software, big LCD display-the list goes on. The -'s: no mac adapter(yet:), needs to ship with a better manual. Overall, this is the best MP3 player I've seen on the internet for what you pay. Definitly worth the money! Don't waste your bucks on a mini disc!

Summary: Some Helpful Information for Other YP-E32 users
Review: I've owned this product for about 2 years and it has been very reliable but there are a few things that could have been added to make it better. The only knock is the interface...parrallel is slow and there's not much you can do about that. I tried using a USB smartmedia writer/reader to download music onto and then tried it in the YP-E32 itself. The player does not recongnize the formate and will not display it nor play it. A friend lent me a 128mb smartmedia card to try and again the player would not read that either. It needs the 32mb cards. I'm still searching for a better interface set-up. Any ideas please post them.
If you want better quality sound you need a good jukebox program that will allow you to rip or write music at or near CD quality.
But remember, the higher the kbs the bigger the file therefore, the number of songs you will be able to download will be less.
Otherwise it's been a great little toy.
