Summary: Garbage in Garbage out.....
Review: No wonder it's only [$$], gee I wonder if they'll even pay their rebate? Probably not, but now it doesn't matter since I sent my third one back and have had it. Cornea couldn't even address basic application problems over the phone regarding the first unit. The second unit came with over 20 dead pixels & the 3rd unit came with almost 40 dead pixels. That's like punching a whole the size of a silver dollar through the screen. My understanding is there are so many fly by night LCD suppliers, stick with something you can go see in person at a local retailer even if you buy it on-line.

Summary: Great monitor at a great price
Review: This monitor is great and works as advertised. It worked great for me out of the box, no dead pixels and has a very vibrant screen. It was a bit tricky to fine-tune the settings for refresh rate and match those to the OSD menu for 'clock' and 'phase' settings as those are not very intuitive. Once set though it's a very nice display!

Summary: Not bad for the price
Review: Just got mine this afternoon and I'm writing this on it right now.

First, I have to say I was disappointed - I expected better considering the very high user ranking and number of people reviewing. I'll just say is that this monitor is OK, and in particular if you're mostly going to use a word processor, spreadsheet, code editor, i.e. editing black against a white background, it should do fine by you. Games seem OK too - no ghosting that I can see, but I've only played one game briefly.

What's annoying about this monitor, and it's a big minus in my book, is the trouble it has keeping text sharp when the text is displayed against a background of similar color to the text. When you switch from one web page with black text against white (e.g. Amazon's pages) to one with black against blue (e.g. techbargains), you go from sharp to fuzzy, and you can get a headache if your eyes have to re-adjust like that all day long.

The bottom line is I don't know if I'm going to keep it. I'll try it out for a few days and see if I get used to it.

Pros -

- Easy set-up
- Light, and small desk footprint
- Looks sharp
- Price
- No dead pixels

Cons -

- Trouble keeping sharp contrast between adjacent similar colors, producing fuzzy display

Summary: Great product at bargain price!
Review: I bought the same model one year ago and just like it. Compare to brand name LCD monitors, it is nothing less. It does not have DVI, no ... speakers you can find on those expensice LCDs, no USB hub. But hey, I just want a decent LCD. This LCD is good for money I paied. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a good LCD without ... features which will cost you.

Summary: Great buy and great quality
Review: This LCD monitor is GREAT!!!! Just swapped out from a 19" CRT for this 17" LCD.. and its a welcomed improvement. Its practically the same screen real estate, but 1/10th of the desktop real estate compared to my older 19" CRT occupied. It sure is nice to have my desk back now. Its hard to find a 17" with 500:1 ratio @ this price point... go ahead keep looking.... you'll end up coming back OR spending ... more. :-)

Summary: Awesome LCD
Review: This monitor is an excilent ballance between price and preformance, and surely didn't dissapoint me.

I purchaced one of these durring the January rebate cycle, meaning it was fairly cheap. Brought it home, and hooked it up along the side of my 17" CRT, attempting to use them dual-monitor style. In the cource of 3 days, I had decided that the CRT absolutely had to go, and I went to buy another of these beautiful monitors.

I now have 2 running in dual-display mode on my GeForce 4600 Ti, using a DVI>VGA adapeter for one of the monitors, and it is stunning. These displays are excilent for gaming/graphics design/dvd movies/anything I have thrown at them.

They arrived in flawless condition (no dead pixels or the such), and remain that way. I have not had to mess with the settings on them once, only auto-adjusting when nessasary (which is a great feature in itself).

My only dissapointments: lack of an DVI interface and I found the VGA cables too short. I had to go out and purchace a 12' VGA cable in order to use one of the LCDs on my desk, a minor detail, but annoying to say the least ;)

So, I'll sum it up:

Pros:

Price
Looks
Image Quality
Weight (can anyone say: "LAN party?")

Cons:

No DVI
Cables too short

Review: Went thru two units, both had stuck pixels on receipt. No useable vertical viewing angle.

Summary: Love it!
Review: I received this monitor a couple of weeks ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. I LOVE it--it's so much easier on my eyes than my CRT, and the Amazon price beat every retail outlet in my city. I don't know what these other reviews are talking about because my monitor works perfectly. And this monitor takes up so little space!

FYI: I set the brightness on 52 and the contrast ratio on 36. The screen area I set 1024 by 768 pixels.

Summary: Why do you get a flatscreen?
Review: That is the question. One of the major reasons is to regain desktop space: this one does it. Another one, to save electricity, hopefully: can be argued in its favor too. Even the price plays in favor of the Cornea MP704B 17" LCD Monitor, the best deal in flatscreens at the time we were shopping for one a few weeks ago. Now, one thing that this beauty doesn't do: display with cripsness. Unfortunately, in spite of following the guidelines provide to auto-tune it, etc. bold fonts in particular are very fuzzy, which is a one-way ticket to headache land. So, save yourself and do some more shopping. This sure is a bargain, but not a good LCD, unfortunately. In fact, we're returning it and settling for the loss of desktop space for now.

Summary: Top-quality
Review: I got this monitor about 7 months ago. I havent had a single problem with it. It has a beautiful large bright screen, and works very well. It saves a TON of desk space from a CRT, and what would match it would be a SFF (small form factor) PC for going to LAN Parties. For those that got dead products, it would be a good idea to write the review after you got the working product, as it was most likely hurt in shipping. Anyways, this is a wonderful monitor, the only thing it lacks is DVI, but for such a low price, it is an excellent product.
