Summary: Best Price/Performance value among sub $100 printers
Review: After comparing HP/Epson/Canon & read countless reveiws, I bought this printer since it is the best all-around printer in the current market...my general impression after months of using this printer are as follow:

Pros:

1)small footprint

2) I've used this printer to print a lot photos taken by a 2MP digital camera on glossy photo papers & the result are simply amazing which rivals the lab processing photo. (it is also recommende that you match your monitor's color display with canon printer via Photoshop's print utility)& nobobay believed that the photo is coming from a $[money] printer.

3) low cost of cartridge($[money] for black & $[money] for color) that won't break you like other brands that sell you cheap printer but charge obsene price on replacement cartridge.

4) very quiet during printing & it's very fast too for normal home use.

5) the cost/performance value simply the best in the market(it's a shame that amazon raised the price of this printer by $[money]after I purchased it) but it's still a good value though.

Cons:

1) takes about 20 sec. to do self-cleaning/set-up when first power on, this is probably the only complain so far on this printer based on all reviews that i read, no major complain about the performance or quality of this printer yet. (but hey it takes longer to boot your MS Windows every time you turn on you pc ....so the printer is ready before your pc does...)

For an average home use, low cost(both printer & cartridge), good quality, quiet & fast priter, Canon s300 just fits the bill for me.

Summary: Canon S300
Review: An excellent inexpensive (not cheap) printer. Being a techno-idiot, I need stuff that knows what it's doing. It was the first program download into our first, recently purchased computer. (A Dell laptop.) It was incredibly easy; the large, poster-sized instruction page was simple and walked me through the set-up.
The first printing was an excercize of terror. It wasn't exactly noisy, it just made strange sounds. The result was astonishing for a $100 dollar printer: 16 pages of text intersparsed with small color photos, printed on some old typing paper that was laying around. The next task, the tiny diamond-point print on a tax form, came out perfectly.
We haven't tried photocopying yet, but for what we've asked from it so far and for its price, this little printer does the job.

Summary: The Mighty Mouse
Review: AWESOME printer for its size (and price)!! Easy to install, easy cartridge change. Color is great, bright and clear. B&W crisp, hi-contrast, not 'fuzzy' like some small printers. Highly recommend for home/school use.

Summary: I'm Happy
Review: First I must say that I'm an iMac user(OSX) and I was looking for a printer with a small "Footprint " since space is important to me.I'm not heavy on printing but I do run a small business from home. I must say I'm impressed with this printer.Print quality over all is very good and it IS fast in both color + black and white. The communication speed could be a bit faster(thats why I only give 4stars)but that just might be MY iMac's thing.Over all I'm HAPPY with it and it's low price.I also have the canon 670 scanner and these two work very well together.

Summary: Good print job for price
Review: Great quailty print jobs. It is a vast improvement over my old Canon 4300. For an (inexpensive) printer, the speed and quality are excellent.

Summary: A great printer
Review: Had two different Lexmarks and thought their defects were normal defects/problems common to all printers until I got this wonderful Canon. Have had it about a couple of months and to date it has given me flawless performance--and I print a lot. I happen to like its noise. It gives a bit of character to what I consider to be a perfect machine. I've had Canon cameras and lens for years. I have no idea why I didn't automatically get a Canon printer. I'm very happy with this printer.

Review: I can't praise this printer enough. I haven't owned an inkjet printer, so maybe I'm easily impressed. But from the moment I brought it home, this printer has exceeded my expectations.

The S300 is quite small, so it fit easily into my (somewhat cramped) office. It was very easy to hook up to my computer and install the drivers on Windows. The written instructions were clear, and the driver installation program guided me through the head calibration task in no time.

After that, everything just worked. I printed out a few color images and web pages just for fun, and have since used it quite often to print out verious tax-related documents and letters. The print quality is impressive, even on plain paper. The printing speed is fine for most documents. And the little extras like automatic power on/off make the printer a joy to use.

I expected to have to pay twice what I did to get a printer I was happy with. At around $100, this printer is astoundingly good.

A word of warning: the ink cartridges for this printer are quite small, so if you're looking for a home office printer, you should probably get something more industrial-stength. However, if you only need to print a few pages every now and then, but still want reasonable print quality, then the S300 is ideal for you.

Review: I finally found a printer that is made by a trusted name that is quiet, prints both documents and photos with ease, and it didn't break my wallet. I would tell anyone that I know to buy it.

Review: I got one of these with my new computer and I was sooooooooo wrong to do that. The ink is very cheep I have to admit that but the paper feeder broke after 3 months of good service. If you want a good printer go with HP if not do go with cannon. I sopouse that is the reason its 100.00 dollars.
