Summary: I love this product!
Review: I have never written a review and will not get in depth with this. All I really want to express to everyone is this is a quality product at an unbelievable value. Text scans are very fast and high quality. With this being a flat bed scanner you can do high quality photo scans as well. I have always liked Cannon products because the ink prices are less than half what they are for other brands. This is a real space saver compared to having individual scanner and printers. I highly recommend. I will buy another Cannon when this one gives out.

Summary: Excellent multi-functional product
Review: *Very easy to setup and use.
*Excellent print quality.
*Scans of pictures look great.
*Copier function is easy to use, don't even need to have computer turned on.
*Fast printing.

I want to clear up a negative comment an earlier reviewer said that this machine runs out of ink quickly.

The machine itself doesn't use up the ink quickly, Canon always packages their ink cartridges so that they are economical to the average user(consumer).

What I mean is that most of the time you can buy the "black" Canon ink cartridge for typically less than $10 compared to Hewlett Packard which sells it's black ink cartridges for typically $25+. The difference being in the two products is the amount of ink contained in each one. The Canon ink cartridge for $10 has maybe half the ink that the Hewlett Packard $25 ink cartridge has.

For the average user like myself, I like given the choice of buying a smaller ink cartridge for $10 rather than being stuck with paying $25 for a size ink cartridge that will take you forever to use.

Get the idea?

A decent scanner alone would cost almost this amount, but in this product you get all 3 (printer, copier, scanner) in one. Excellent product Canon, A+

Summary: Excellent Quality ! Unbelievable value !
Review: After looking through PC World's review, I decided to look at the MP390. It was the editor's choice. I was a little weary of spending (...). I then found out about the MP360 and went to Canon's website to compare the two. The only differences between them is that the MP360 does not have a memory card reader ( which the MP370 does ) or a fax machine and that the MP360 is $100 cheaper with Canon's rebate. Already having an 8 in 1 memory card reader and virtually no reason at all for the fax, I ordered the MP360.

I very happy with this pick. The photo printing is excellent. The scanner is excellent, even with photos. The copier is great for black and white, but for copying photos I would suggest scanning them in to the computer first and touching them up with the included software. The best part of this machine is the ink cost. After dealing with Lexmark for a couple of years I thought all ink cartridges have to be (...) a piece, not true. I found ( on ebay ) generic canon cartridges. I paid (...) with SHIPPING for 5 black cartridges and 5 color cartridges. To me afer dealing with Lexmark printers and all-in-ones I feel this machine has brought me to printer nirvana.

Summary: A great occassional use printer.
Review: After paying $30.00 for HP cartridges for years, I selected the Canon specifically because the ink cartridges were $7.00 or less and the color $15.00 or less. While I didn't expect the ink to last as long as the HP tanks, I was pleasantly surprised to get well over 100 sheets of greyscale printing by using the draft and standard modes and reserving quality mode only for presentations. In ink savings alone this printer will pay for itself compared with other brands, many many many times over.

The only real problem (and its not really a problem) with the printer is a long warmup period followed by some overdramatic printer head gymnastics when you go to print a document or use the copier. It can take well over 30 seconds between your print request and when the first page actually starts printing, although the printer is speedy enough after it starts. For casual home or office use this really isn't a problem.

The printer is obsessive about cleaning itself because the ink cartridges don't come with a printer head. This reduces the cost of the ink cartridges considerably but the printer has to take extra care in keeping the permanent head clean. So the long warmups are actually saving you money.

Another thing to note is that the scanner is only 8 1/2 by 11 so if you need to scan legal documents this isn't the model for you. If you want to make an occssional copy or scan a photo the scanner is perfect.

Regardless of where you are printing from (photoshop, word processor, or using the copier) print quality is excellent and the supplied drivers makes it easy to configure the printout. All three functions (scanning, printing, and copying) work flawlessly as as you expected.

The supplied software is worth the price of the printer alone offering an adaquate photo retoucher ( this software won't work with .gif images though ), Optical Character Recognition, and little applets to make handling scanned images (storing, attaching to email) easy.

Setup was a mild chore made easier by following the large poster in the box, there was nothing too difficult, mostly removing packaging and installing the printer ink for the first time. The poster was quite insistant that the USB cable (which is not included and must be purchased seperately) not be attached until last.

The unit itself is about a foot tall, a legal page wide, and a page and a half deep. So it's taller than you might expect. The unit is shiney black plastic, although the top is a more attractive textured black. The sides are light gray. They match the 2004 model Dell computers fairly well. Another nice feature is the output hopper can be folded up when not in use to save space and it just looks nicer. When you print, the hopper will automatically open.

There is no USB cable included with the printer so you'll need to get one. The Belkin cable Amazon recommends with this printer is a great value and works with either USB 1.0 or 2.0 (the printer can understand both). The printer does come with a color and black ink cartridge. The ink cartridge is the popular and widely used BCI-24 series, I had no problem finding replacements on Amazon, Wal Mart, and my local office supply stores.

All told this is a perfect home/small office unit that will fit just about any budget. After a month's use, I'm very satisfied with the quality and value of this printer.

Summary: You can't lose with Canon
Review: After two horrible experiences with HP printers I purchased a Canon i550 two years ago. It never disappointed. When I decided I wanted scanning and copying capability it was a sure thing to stick with Canon. I have been using this multipass for about a month now and I am very happy with it. Great photo & document print quality. And, as well known, one great advantage to Canon printers is the reasonably priced ink cartridges. I LOVE having the ability to use the copy function when the pc is not on. This makes my bill keeping and schoolwork much easier. This mfp looks impressive on the desk and is a dark navy blue color with silver details. The only aspect of the printer that has bothered me is the size; it's a little on the large side. But, this is minor in my office as I have plenty of room for it. Looking at other mfp's at the stores, the large size is pretty standard. I ordered this on Amazon (...)- a FABULOUS price for the function and quality of this Canon. Thanks, Amazon!

Review: An excellent value. I got this printer for $89 after rebate and what an investment it's been!! I get professional quality photo prints besides excellent document prints and copies. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is not in a big hurry for his printouts as it does take a little while to warm up the first time.
Overall an excellent buy!

Summary: PRINTER BROKE TWICE GOOD CUST SUPPORT
Review: I bought this printer in July 2004. By sep. the printer head went bad. I called cust. support. they were very helpful and they had me clean it. The cleaning didnt work. (The cleaning used all of my ink and canon sent me new cartridges.) They had me bring it in to a service center. They were out of print heads so they just replaced the printer. I had the new printer for two weeks and than it wouldnt print out 4x6 paper. The paper kept on falling out before it was finished printing. This time canon sent me a new printer and I got it in less than 24hrs.
This printer has great print quality especially on high gloss photo paper.

Summary: Wonderful printer, scanner, and copier!
Review: I bought this to replace an Epson inkjet printer. I was a little leary of getting another Epson - too noisy and took too long. I thought about HP, but I heard alot of complaints about installation and software. The Canon MP360 is listed in the Consumer Reports magazine as a top MFP, so I went for it. I'm so glad I did. I have printed digital photos on glossy paper, and they are very good quality - I'm very picky about my photos because I scrapbook. You can barely tell the difference between the photos I printed and the ones I had developed at the store. I've also scanned pictures - no complaints here! Quality is 10x better than my old Microtek scanner. No lines or pixelation. I also like just simply pressing a button. I love Photoshop, and the scanner works seamlessly with it. You can also adjust the dpi and image size easily with the advanced options screen - I could never do that on my old scanner. I have also copied with no problems - just push a button - don't have to go through the computer. I am very satisfied with my purchase, especially the price!

Summary: Good unit if you don't want to print much
Review: I got this printer combo because I was tired of paying big bucks for ink for my old lexmark and was pleased to see how cheap the refill ink for this one cost.

Pros:
1. You get a printer, copier and scanner for about the same price as a printer.
2. It's quiet
3. The news letters I printed with a few color pictures looked good.
4. It has a manual duplex feature that seems to work.

Cons:
1. It's really big--I wasn't prepared for such a big unit.
2. It takes longer from the time I click print to when the paper starts coming out of the printer than my old lexmark did.
3. Although the ink is very cheap it's also in tiny little cartridges. I needed to print 140 double sided newsletters. After the first 50, I got a low ink message and actually ran out of ink at number 60. I thought it was just a smaller amount of ink that came with the printer but the new cartridge I bought also printed 60 double sided pages.

I ended up returning it and paying a "restocking fee" because I didn't want to have to constantly change the ink cartridge. I didn't get a chance to even check out the scanner part of it. It wasn't worth it.

If you don't print much and you want an all in one unit--this one is fine but if you don't want to have to stop and change the ink cartridge every hundred pages or so, find another printer.

Summary: Sucks up ink
Review: I had this printer for about a month now and have already used 2 black ink catridges. This machine does not print as fast as it states. I can barely print 12 black pages per minute let alone color prints. I'll say you can print about 4-5 pages per minute(black) 2-3 pages (color)
Also machine is bulky navy blue brick(it is not black!!!)
scanning and picture printing quality is excellent.
